Aquaman Trilogy Fancast - Part 2

An Aquaman fan-cast mashed up with some ideas I had for a trilogy. Part 2

These are just some ideas for an Aquaman trilogy I had floating around in my head that I turned into a brief synopsis with a fan-cast. Here’s Part 2…

Aquaman: Beneath the Waves

Returning Cast

Aquaman – Alan Ritchson OR Armie Hammer

Casting: I like Armie Hammer but I’m not gonna budge with Ritchson haha. I feel the majority of the people who don’t want him for the role are basing their judgment on only one performance he did on a TV show that was quickly going down the s*** hole. (*cough*SMALLVILLE*cough*) Take a look at the rest of his career and I’m sure you’ll all be surprised. He’s improving as an actor and I have no doubt in my mind we’ll be seeing him a lot more often. But because some people can’t change their mind (and also because I actually care what people on the internet think about) you’ll find some Armie Hammer pictures a little further down…

Role: We now find Aquaman as the new but reluctant King of Atlantis. With both his father and brother murdered in Part 1 the disheartened Aquaman has no reason to go to the surface and thus takes the throne. While the Atlantean people accept him as their new king they are still skeptical as to whether or not someone who has lived his life on the surface is fit to rule the underwater city. Political tensions are high and to help Aquaman through this difficult time is…

Vulko – Harvey Keitel

Casting: A veteran actor, Harvey Keitel would have absolutely no problem handling a relatively small role such as this. Keitel naturally looks like a wise and war-torn man (isn’t Vulko?) so he would not only be a good fit but also has the acting chops to back up the role.

Role: For the past few decades Vulko has been keeping Atlantis from falling into utter self-destruction by the skin of his teeth. After Atlan left in search of Arthur “Orin” Curry, Vulko was left alone to defend the throne from possible usurpers all while trying to keep what little peace remained present. With the arrival of Aquaman a huge burden is lifted off his shoulders. He will always be an aide to Aquaman and will prove his worth as he and the King must work together to stop an unknown force which has brutally been devouring Atlanteans. He is…

King Shark – Bencio del Toro (Motion Capture/CGI)

Casting: Now I know this casting may meet some opposition since Michael Clarke Duncan seems to be the default voice for any character over 6 feet and 200 pounds. But unknown to many is that the Academy Award winning Del Toro (Traffic) is actually an accomplished voice actor as well. I see him bringing new depth to the King Shark who would not be just a killing machine but a sophisticated being driven by his animalistic desires.

Role: A humanoid shark and son of the Shark God, King Shark has been traveling the seas in search of a purpose. His travels lead him to Atlantis where he begins to feed on the citizens there. He is defeated by Aquaman and Vulko and is shown mercy, something the King Shark has never received before. He pledges allegiance to King Orin and promises to serve as an enforcer/bodyguard for the newly appointed king. He will also introduce King Orin to a certain red-headed beauty we call…

Mera – Emily Blunt

Casting: I find her to be absolutely gorgeous. Even if she wasn’t a terrific actress I would have casted her anyways. Fortunately she actually is a remarkable actress and I see her handling the role of the Queen of Dimension Aqua turned wife and powerful ally to her lover King Orin quite well.

Role: The Queen of another dimension Mera is at a crossroads in her life and unsure of what to do next. King Shark, who has friends in high places (his father is a god after all), invites her to another dimension to introduce her to a new friend he has made. Mera and Orin quickly become more than friends and she happily abandons her post as queen in her home dimension in order to stay and aide her troubled husband. And Orin will need all the help he can receive when a new villain makes his presence known…

Kordax – Willem Dafoe (Motion Capture/CGI)

Casting: No stranger to villainy I see Willem Dafoe as the perfect casting choice for Kordax. Nominated for multiple Academy Awards I foresee no problems with him handling this major role in Part 2. His performance would be a mix of other villains he has played (including Green Goblin and Max Schreck/Nosferatu) resulting in the new and terrifying role of Kordax.

Role: Thought to be dead for over a century Kordax returns with a vengeance and is determined to take over the throne. He quickly wins over the Atlanteans, convincing them that a surface dweller should not be seated at the throne of power. And with a strong connection to sea life that is equal to Aquaman’s, a climactic showdown is inevitable. Unbeknownst to all, however, is that Kordax does not simply want to rule Atlantis but the surface world as well.

At the end of the film we have a showdown between Kordax and a group of Atlanteans against Aquaman, Mera, King Shark, and Vulko. By the end of the fight King Shark has been killed by Kordax who enlisted the aide of near-by sharks who eagerly devoured King Shark at the command of Kordax. Furious Aquaman also enlists the aide of sea-creatures and emerges triumphant as the true ruler of the seas. The Atlanteans cowardly submit to him and proclaim him true ruler. Arthur however has seen enough. He takes his wife Mera and leaves the Atlanteans with Vulko who has been placed in charge. After a few days on the surface world we learn that Mera is pregnant…

And here’s a hilarious video with Alan Ritchson. By the time we get to Part 3 YOU WILL ACCEPT HIM AS AQUAMAN! But not really…it’s so hard to get the internet to change its mind.

not bad. nice follow-up. don't care for either Aquaman choice though. or Emily Blunt. but I don't like her for anything, so I'm biased. but the rest is good, I like it.

LOVE to see you took my advice with Armie Hammer my man. In my fan cast for the justice league I was one of the first to put him in that role. Check it out:

yeah out of the ones that were suggested to me I thought hammer would be best. Skarsgard is a good actor but he's just to skinny to play Aquaman in my opinion.

im just saying but u said ppl r basing their judgement on his role on a tv show...do u realize what role he was playing? oh yea it was aquaman they r basing their judgment on his shitty performance as aquaman thats y they dont want him as aquaman...armie hammer would be great and the rest of the cast i like as well i also think ryan gosling could be great as aquaman

@yankeemanf my point was that it was an early role of his. when talking about a director do you talk about just one movie he did? nope, you talk about all of his movies as part of his career. you don't look at one bad movie and claim he's a bad director. same principle applies here. you don't look at one shitty performance (which wasn't even that shitty by the way, bad but not shitty)and claim he's a horrible actor. the guys improved, check out his other stuff :)
