Bad Daddys a la Marvel

Be glad these aren't your fathers on this day!

MAGNETO:

Sure, you could admonish his not knowing the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were his kids when he treated them like dogs in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. What did he do to repair his relationship? He’s tried killing other members of his kind, destroying their friends in the Avengers, kidnapping Quicksilver’s daughter, and has a “push and pull” relationship with his recently revealed daughter, Polaris. This guy makes Mommie Dearest look like Mother Theresa. I do think he’d enjoy smacking his kids on the rumps with wire hangers—magnetically, of course.

NORMAN OSBORN:

Isn’t trying to kill your son’s best friend enough to put you on this list? Nope! How about neglecting Harry at every turn while trying to kill his best friend and gain super powers? He’s neglected Harry so much that he was blind to Harry’s drug use and eventual transformation into the second Green Goblin. Not to mention, he has fathered children with a clone of Gwen Stacy (Peter’s first love). That adds a bit of perversity to the ‘old man!’

RED SKULL:

Aside from the fact that he’s a Nazi, perpetually tries to kill and maim Earth’s heroes—particularly the sentinel of liberty, Captain America, and constantly seeks omnipotence via the Cosmic Cube, Johan Schmidt is an evil dad. Shortly after the birth of his daughter, he considers killing her! It’s how evil dads say thank you for the miracle of life while aiming for a son. He then robs her of childhood by accelerating the aging process to mature Synthia to adulthood. I’m not saying he brainwashed her…she did end up hating Cap enough to try to kill him as Mother Superior. Furthermore, after she is returned to childhood, he starts the process all over again! I’m sure she sends him the best cards this time of year!

KINGPIN:

Being the head of all blight to New York City, nemesis to Daredevil and Spider-Man, and drugging and misleading his wife at every turn, Wilson Fisk is a terrible father. The Kingpin is such a deadbeat, neglectful father that Richard Fisk masked himself as the Rose, an underworld crime leader, in order to usurp his daddy’s empire. Most bad kids just wait for the old man to die to get his illicit fortune. That is not to mention that he’s high on the bad husband list with all the deceit and drugging of his wife, Vanessa.

LOKI:

A lot of people forget that this guy is the father to death in the world of Odin and Thor, as well as the Midgard Serpent. Hela, a.k.a. ruler of the dead, is always trying to usurp the heroes’ spirits from Valhalla, and ultimately make Thor, her uncle, into her servant. The Midgard Serpent periodically tries to kill Thor as well. Maybe he’s not steering them towards Thor’s destruction, though he’s certainly setting the example…albeit bad.

Now some would argue you could add a few heroes for being a bit delinquent, deadbeat, or neglectful. They just aren’t evil and the worst examples. At least those guys are trying to save the world.
Happy Father’s Day!

Off topic, but it's so adorable I gotta spread the news. To all those that thought Hawkeye was useless in Avengers, my 6yo daughter just spent her allowance on a toy bow and arrow set, stating she wanted to be like the superhero in the Avengers. At the game of parenting, I am WINNING!!!

Big thumbs up! It's really true. Who's the worst? Kingpin looks almost saintly in comparison.
