We all know that the Birds of Prey series back in the day wasn’t the best show nor was it a decent show. The storyline lacked excitement and had a lot of plot holes which were probably going to be explained but it never got a chance to since it was cancelled. The characters were pretty lame I’m still not sure if it was the actors back then or the script but overall the show wasn’t great.
I put together a Birds of Prey TV show fan cast based on the original TV show but with a few changes.
The Plot of the show
Barbra Gordon the protagonist of the show decides to bring back the Birds of Prey after she can’t handle certain missions on her own. She brings together Huntress and Black canary who were part of the team before. The Villains of the show would change each episode so a few recognisable villains and heroes would cameo. Along the way they recruit new heroes who then join the team. The show would be similar to shows like Arrow, Agents of Shield, the Mentalist and Person of Interest.
For Batgirl I decided to take the new 52 approach by making Barbra Gordon Batgirl. In the original show she was Oracle and she was older. Batgirl in the show would be the main protagonist as well as the leader of the team.
Lyndsey Fonseca as Batgirl/Barbra Gordon/Oracle
She is a good actress in my opinion and she does have martial arts experience from the show Nikita. She also does look like Barbra Gordon. She is in many fan casts as Batgirl so I know there are people out there who would agree with this choice. She can pull of tough and intelligent characters just watch some of the movies or series she is notable for (Nikita, Kick-Ass)
Katryn Winnick as Black Canary
A talented actress who resembles Black canary. I think she has the acting ability as well as the look to pull of this character. I have considered a few other people for this role but Katryn Winnick blended into this cast much better than my other choices for Black canary. She can play tough, harsh or kind characters so I think she is the perfect Black canary. (Vikings, Bones, Nikita)
Lauren Cohan as Huntress/ Helena Bertinelli
Lauren Cohan has the acting talent and look to play Huntress who would be the wildcard of the team. Cohan does have the acting chops that are required for the role just watch her in The Walking Dead and Supernatural.Huntress in the original Birds Of prey show was Bruce and Selina's daughter but not in my version.
Emily Vancamp as Lady Blackhawk
Emily Vancamp is has the acting ability, look and skills to pull of Lady Blackhawk. She has gained fighting experience from her show Revenge and she has the acting chops to play Lady Blackhawk.
Kristin Bell as Harley Quinn
She has the acting chops for Harley as well the look. I think she would make a convincing Harley Quinn. Harley in my cast would a mixture of Harley from the old Birds of prey show and The Batman making her similar to Harley Quinn in the comics but also a more sinister version of the character.
A few recognisable heroes and Villains would cameo.
Rachel Nichols as Poison Ivy
She resembles Poison Ivy just look at my picture. She has the acting talent to pull off Poison Ivy’s traits. (Star Trek & Conan the Barbarian)
Elisa Dusku as Catwoman/Selina Kyle
She has the acting talent and the look. She has been in many fan casts as Catwoman. She is a very popular choice for this role and I think she would do a good job as Catwoman. She also voiced Selina in Batman Year One.
Mark Valley & Michael Chiklis as Jim Gordon & Harvey Bullock
Both men are decent actors and I tried to be a little original with my Gordon choice since I didn’t pic Josh Brolin or Bryan Cranston. I think both my choices would do decent jobs as Gordon & Bullock. Mark Valley doesn’t have much luck with shows neither does Michael Chiklis but both of them are pretty solid actors when given the right material.
Misha Collins as the Question
Misha is a talented actor with a cool voice and I think he would make a good Question maybe even on Arrow. All he need is his Castiel attire (Supernatural), a hat and the mask and he could easily pull of the Question. He would be the love interest for Huntress just like in Justice League Unlimited.
Travis Fimmel as Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen
I wanted to be original and not use Charlie Hunnam or Steven Amell. Travis Fimmel is a talented actor who has worked with katryn Winnick on their show Vikings. Travis Fimmel has the acting chops and the look to pull of Green Arrow.
Penn Badgley as Nightwing/ Richard Grayson
Penn Badgley is said to be one of the choices for Nightwing in Man Of Steel. I think he is a better choice than Ezra Miller or Adam Driver. Penn Badgely is a good actor and arguably the best actor from Gossip Girl. I think he has all the requirement’s to play Nightwing. He would be in a few episodes as Barbra’s friend/love interest.
Jim Caviezel as the Batman/Bruce Wayne
Jim Caviezel is a good actor who could make a fine Batman. He has the height and intense acting ability required for Batman. The reason I put him in my cast is because he trained them and I think it would be cool for Bats to appear in a few episodes. It’s a shame he isn’t Bats.
