2014's TV pilot season has got me stoked! Never before have we had so many comic adaptations on the small screen at the same time. One of which I am especially optimistic about is ABC's Agent Carter series. As you should know Hayley Atwell will be reprising her role as the lead and that she will be accompanied by Dominic Cooper in the role of Howard Stark, co-founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. In addition the pilot was writen by none other than screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stehen McFeely who are responsible for the recent masterpiece Captain America: TWS.
In anticipation for what is almost guaranteed to be awesome I made a list of 15 characters I would like to see make an appearance on the show. I tried to stay away from the obvious ones like the Howling Commandos so without further ado here it is...
15. Ulysses Bloodstone
Ulysses Bloodstone is the adopted name of an ancient hunter turned adventurer, soldier of fortune and monster hunter after contact with a fragment of the mystic Bloodgem rendered him virtually immortal. He lived for well over ten thousand years.
14. Dominic Fortune
David Fortunov was an adventurer, whom fought against the Nazi's during World War II. Under the alias of Dominic Fortune he became a hero for hire in the late 1930's. He was first somewhat of a charmer and took everything lightly, pretty much Marvel's version of James Bond.
13. Phantom Eagle
Phantom Eagle fought alongside U.S. forces during World War I. Member of the Freedom's Five. His real name is Karl Kaufman and he is simply a normal human with ridiculous piloting skills. He is also a decent hand-to-hand combatant.
12. Azzari the Wise
The Black Panther and King of Wakanda during World War Two, who befriended a young Steve Rogers. He is the father of T'Chaka and S'Yan making him the grandfather of T'Challa, Shuri, and T'Shan.
11. Jimmy Woo
During the 1950s, no FBI Agent had as distinguished a career as Jimmy Woo, the prime agent involved in battling the villainy of the Yellow Claw. Reborn 50 years later he is now the head of the Atlas Foundation and the Agents of Atlas.
10. Rebel Ralston
Rebel Ralston's one of the Howling Commandos and a United States Senator. Robert periodically helped Nick, Dum, Eric, Gab, Izzy and Dino in during their time in World War Two. He was later part of the formation that became known as the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D.
9. Whizzer
As a child, Robert Frank was attacked and bitten by a cobra. Believed poisoned, his father injected him with mongoose blood believing it would serve as an antidote. The transfusion kick-started his latent mutant power and as Robert grew into an adult he became the speedster known as Whizzer.
8. Patriot
Jeffrey Mace aka Patriot took up the mantle of Captain America following the original's disappearance and presumed death during the war.
7. Doctor Nemesis
Dr. James Bradley is a "self-evolved" mutant super-scientist, co-creator of the original Human Torch, and a former Nazi hunter. He is well-known for his acerbic wit, immense arrogance and love for all things scientific.
I'm not sure if Marvel has the rights to him considering how close he is to the x-men but I think he would be really interesting for Peggy to interact with.
6. Jim Hammond
The very first Marvel Superhero. Jim Hammond was the first Human Torch and actually an android created by Professor Phineas T. Horton.
Personally I think it might be a bit difficult to fit an android into the MCU during this time period which is why I suggest maybe merging him with Toro.
5. Major Mapleleaf
Louis Sadler was a Canadian superhero during the second World War. He gained super strenght and near invulnerability through an unrevealed process which may have extended his lifetime. He is, apparently, Canada's first metahuman. Basically a Northern version of Captain America.
I'm sure most of you might not care to see this character but I think the whole fact that no one really knows how he gets his powers is so interesting... Or maybe I'm just biased because I am Canadian lol either way he's on my list.
4. Miss America
Miss America was a Golden Age hero and part of the superhero teams the Invaders and the All-Winners Squad. Her real identity is Madeline Joyce a wealthy teen heiress who through ridiculous means obtained super powers.
I can imagine a lot of tension between Joyce and Peggy. For Miss America to work in the MCU her origins would definitely have to be altered. She's way too powerful to get her powers by accident.
3. Blonde Phantom
The Blonde Phantom is a masked crime-fighter and detective from the Golden Age of Marvel Comics. Louise Grant Mason was a member of the Avenger 1959 team, working alongside the many contemporaries of that time.
She would serve as an incredible rival for Peggy.
2. Namora
Daughter of an Atlantean man and surface woman. The Golden Age hero Namora is cousin to Namor and, like him, is one of Marvel's first mutants. She is currently working under Jimmy Woo with the Agents of Atlas.
I really have issues with Namor and Namora being virtually ageless which is why I would alter their origin somehow so that Namora is there during this period and Namor can be in the present. Again assuming Marvel has the rights to them.
1. Spitfire
Spitfire is the daughter of the Howling Commando, Lord Montgomery Falsworth and sister to Union Jack, Brian Falsworth. Lady Jacqueline Falsworth-Crichton has the ability to run at superhuman speed. While running she leaves a trail of non-damaging fire behind her.
I can totally picture a story arc in which Jacky and Peggy are besties but Jacqueline eventually gets taken hostage and experimented on, giving her her abilities.
