Firstly, there are no original or new ideas, but there will always be interesting ways to reinterpret them for an audience, these are mine & what I would lobve to see happen.
Spider-man:
Pete will be back, in time for his movie probably, but what I hope happens, is what sets him apart from other super heroes. His life pretty much sucks. I believe Ock will start to lose control, perhaps Pete will gain some control & try to contact people. Finally as he feels himself slipping away, he will do something so desperate & file it will haunt Spidey & the world forever. Kill someone in front of the whole world.
Maybe a minor character, but someone that will set the stage for the next status quo, Spider-man most wanted
It makes sense, his never really been a team player, so breaking free from the Avengers & Fantastic Four would bring him back to isolation & the loner he used to be. With a much darker feel due to the final events, he is wanted by heroes & law enforcement alike but there is other aspects that he will feel truly outdone by. His friends & loved ones didn’t notice he was different, they couldn’t sense it wasn’t him? That would leave many a story line to be explored. Does Cap or Iron man go after him, how does he prove his innocence…does he hang up the mask? It all would mean he has to explore what it means to be completely alone in the world, with no one to turn to. What’s a wall crawler to do?
X-men:
Wolverine no longer the head of the school & Cyclops back in charge of all X-man (mostly), this would happen after Cyclops has been deemed a hero again & all past crimes pardoned. However, this would be different as the Avengers & Shield would be involved in the new set up, they would request the school to accept other “gifted” students, i.e. the inhuman descendants.
This would be a great story line to explore, are mutants tolerant & acceptant of this “new group” & will Cyclops play along. Also Cap would ask them to also accept another group into their school, the children & descendants of super villains, who still have a chance to alter their own destinies. Unlike Avenger academy , the stakes here are much higher, because while they have powers the sins of the father/mother run deep. I would love J2 to be re-introduced, with perhaps gravitons child, a great power to have. The concept here is that at anytime they could slip into that dark place & become that threat that needs to be taken down, so where else can they get some understanding & tolerance…yep not that simple. Yeah, at any time some of the Runaways can join in, would make sense.
I also would have Grayden Creeds (he’s alive rite?) mutant gene finally be released & he turn into a feral being. He would start his own brotherhood, but with beings like him who blame super powered beings for their “curse”. He would also seek out his father, creating that melodrama Marvel so likes & yeah he eventually runs into…..
Wolverine will somehow get him to join the X-men, I believe a sacrifice of his own life would do it & him somehow getting Daken to make an oath, very Japanese & somehow honour bound his character. But I would like them to update his look to be more contemporary Asian youth like K from the KOF games.
Only with black hair & somehow similar to his dad, I can quickly see him become a stand out character from here on in. his fighting battles he does not agree with/care for honouring someone he struggles to care for but he sticks to his code. His relationship with X23 can be explored & then also he will come into conflict with Creed (yep, the new eternal scuffle).
Finally Cyclops starts a new X-force, consisting of him Psy-lock, etc. this time much more deadly & much more stealthier. Also, there will be further exploring of his character, his non-caring, bi/omni-sexual behaviour with some of the characters around him. With glimpses of a human being & as always butting heads with Cyclops.
These are some of my ideas, I just see this as a step off point for some much needed refreshing & to see where the characters could go from here, so feel free to respond & tear me a new one if you feel like it.
