Plastic Man:The Movie

Plastic Man:The Movie

This my idea for a superhero comedy about the stretchy seventies superhero we all know and love, Plastic Man.

Despite what my teaser said I'm not that big a fan of Plastic Man. He wasn't my favorite Justice League member or superhero for that matter; he completley flew under my radar. The person that got me to even remeber Plastic Man was the former AMC member Eric Darling. Her complete love for the character and enthusiam at the thought of a movie for the character got me thinking, is there a chance for a Plastic Man movie? I say no, but if there was here's how I would do it.

Tone
The first thing I'm going to address is the tone because this is what brings my article together and without this none of my choices would makes sense. This movie would have to be a comedy because of how ridiculous the main characters are. I imagine it would be a parody that feels like a mixture between the movies Super and Kick-ass. There would be some action but a Plastic Man movie has to be a comedy that just so happens to have superheroes in it.

Director:Todd Phillips

Notable work-Old School,Hangover franchise,Due date
Yea I known what you guys are saying, "The hangover sequels suck",but here me out. Given new and fresh material Todd Phillips puts out comedy gold. As seen in the first Hangover and Due Date, Todd can direct actors to give a perfromance that makes you care and pee your pants laughing at the same time.

Writer:Michael Bacall

Notable work-Scott Pilgrim vs the World,Project X,21 Jump Street franchise
This guy is responsible for writing a some of the most popular young adult comedies of the last few years. While some of his work is cowritten there is no denying that the way he writes his characters has connected with the 15-30 demogragic;the target audience.

Theme Songs: While this isn't really that important  added these songs in because they're  catchy and really help sell the funky tone I'm trying set up.

Synopsis
A womanizer, Patrick "Eel" O'brien, and his sexually confused best friend,Francisco "Paco" Ramon, are break dancers in 1970s New York. These two scumbags pop and lock during the day then pop locks off safes at night. During one heist at a chemical factory, something goes wrong and the two end up getting superpowers. After creating the identies of Plastic Man and Vibe, the two decide to stop their criminal ways and join an already formed superhero team called Justice League of America. After being rejected by the Justic League the two decide to continue their wave of crime. That is until a villain from the future called the time trapper comes and kills the JLA. Now Plastic Man and Vibe must team up with another time traveler named Booster Gold in order to stop the future from becoming utter chaos. Can  we trust two thieves, a narcissist in a gold suit, and a gypsy with the fate of the world?

Cast

Plastic Man: Zachary Levi

Notable work- Chuck,Tangled,Thor:The Dark World
Zachary Levi is a great comedic actor. After seeing him as the star of his own show,Chuck, and co-lead the chraming movie,Tangled, I knew he had the chops to be great. With quick comedic timing, charm, and overall great presence Levi is the perfect leading man to play the charismatic Plastic Man.

Vibe:Charlie Day

Notable work-It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,Horrible Bosses,The Lego Movie
In my eyes, Charlie Day can do know wrong. He is the perfect comedic sidekick, who gives just enough to steal the show but not too much to chew the scenery. His quick wit and energetic disposition would give this movie the right amount of life.

Booster Gold:TJ Miller

Notable work-She's out of my League,Our Idiot Brother,How to Train a Dragon
The one word that describes exactly how I feel about TJ Miller is loveable. Every movie I watch with him in it makes me love him  more. Wheter it's the underrated comedy, she's out of my league, or the terrible stinker that is Transformers 4,Miller always brings some undeniable charm to the table.

Gypsy:Tania Raymonde

Notable work-Lost,Texas Chainsawa 3D
I'm going to be honest, I didn't put much thought into this choice. The only reason I chose this actress is because see looks the part and is harmless enough that she wouldn't bring the whole movie down. That being said, this girl is gorgeous. If this picture doesn't do anything for you just google her because you won't be dissapointed. Her good looks and serviceable acting is enough for the love interest.

Time Trapper:Gerard Butler

Notable work-300,Law Abiding Citizen,The Ugly Truth
I chose butler because he's shown he can be Intense in roles like the 300 and Law Abiding Citizen, but also charming and snarky in The Uglyv Truth. This shows he could play more than your run of the mill villain.

Justice League Cameos
Now for the Justice League I'd like to say they would get more than just cameos. They would probably appear in the first 20 minutes, die, then come back for the end. Also, I'm not going to explain why I chose the cast individually because my reason is the same for all of them; I find them funny and they look the part.

Batman:Jason Sudeikis

Notable work-We're the Millers,Saturday Night Live,Horrible Bosses

Superman:Paul Rudd

Notable work-Role Models,Anchorman,Knocked Up

Wonder-Woman:Kat Dennings

Notable work-2 Broke Girls,Thor,Nick & Norah's Infinte Playlist

Aquaman-Will Poulter

Notable work-We're the millers

Hawkman:Patrick Warburton

Notable work-Family Guy,The Venture Bros,The Emperor's New Groove

Jay Garrick/Flash:Jay Burachel

Notable work-This is the End,She's out of my League,Knocked up

I think Marvel should do something like this with The Great Lakes Avengers.

Waitasec--why is Jay Garrick the Flash for the JLA and not Barry Allen or Wally West? Just curious.

@FlixMentallo21 Honestly, I only chose Jay Garrick was because he was the original Flash. I just thought it would be funny to see him where the hat with wings.

Some of these choices are just down right strange, especially for your Justice League cameos.

I do like your pick for "Plastic Man".
