I have always loved reading Marvel comics since I was a kid. I grew up reading Spidey and Captain America for the most part. I went on to read the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Iron-Man, and the rest.

I have always liked some of female charcters that showed up in those various books as well. Three of my favorites were Spider-Woman, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel. I always thought that these three women had a lot of potential to be popular both in and out of comics, and I never understoood why they weren't used more.

Now that Marvel is making a BIG push into the realm of television, I am hopeful that one or more of these charaters gets a shot at their own movie or television show soon.

Why These Characters Deserve It:

1. Spider-Woman--She was intially created to keep the competition from creating a Spider-Woman and causing any future headaches legally like they had to battle DC over the name of Captain Marvel.

She was largely used in the Marvel U, unitl Brian Michael Bendis brought her back and made her "cool". She is in some ways a female version of Wolverine, her past is kind of complicated and messy.

2. She-Hulk--Her creation was for the same reasons as Spider-Woman initally, but unlike Spider-Woman, she had a family connection to an existing character in the Marvel U, her cousin was the Hulk.

Some of my favorite She-Huilk are from John Byrne's run and Dan Slott's run as well. If you haven't read these yet, you shoulc really check them out.She could be played as a Superhero Ally McBeal.

3. Ms. Marvel--While I have never heard that Ms. Marvel was created for the above reasons, it would make sense.

She is interesting for a few different reasons:

First, she has a military background, this shows that she is a strong and smart person. Second, she has the space element to her powers (as opposed to Spider-Woman's spy background or She-Hulk's law background). Finally, she is flawed, she has issues with alcohol like Iron-Man.

Spider-Woman is probably my favorite female Marvel character, so I would LOVE to see her in her own movie. A tv show might be cool, but I would much rather see her on the big screen. I'm not keeping my hopes up though.

The one thing that I can say about doing AKA Jessica Jones first is that it is a awesome place to guest star a lot of chacacters like the three I have suggested to gauge reaction to characters on screen.

If I remember correctly, Bridget Neilsen was going to play She-Hulk in a 80's movie...

From Wikipedia:

Brigitte Nielsen

In the late 1980s, Marvel Comics approached Nielsen to pose for photographs dressed as the comic book character She-Hulk.[13] She had previously impressed the company with her prior portrayal of their character Red Sonja, and they hoped she would prove just as successful in a new movie venture. The photos did not produce a large amount of investors in the potential film and Marvel was forced to scrap the project
