"The Legend of the Batman - Who He is, and How he Came to Be"

Fifteen years ago, a mugger named Joe Chill accosts Thomas and Martha Wayne and their young son Bruce. He shoots Thomas and Martha and leaves Bruce to survive. Bruce vows to avenge his parents and spends the following years developing his mind and body. One evening, while sitting in his father's study, a huge bat flies into the window. Believing it to be an omen, Bruce decides to drape himself in the trappings of a bat, and thus the Batman is born.

James Purefoy as Batman / Bruce Wayne

Purefoy is an awesome actor and very underrated. He'd be great for a established Bruce Wayne.

Ben Kingsley as Alfred Pennyworth

Kingsley is the splinting image of the comic book Alfred, if he actually tries he would be great.

Elias Koteas as Commissioner James Gordon

Koteas is a fantastic, underrated, character actor who excels in these police roles. Give him a hair peace, slap on a moustache and you've got Gordon.

Michael Madsen as Detective Harvey Bullock

Madsen is just perfect, nothing more to say.

Matt Bomer as Nightwing / Dick Grayson

Bomer would obviously be too old for Dick Grayson, but I'd love to see him in an established Batman universe.

Anna Kendrick as Oracle / Barbara Gordon

Kendrick is just too adorable and I think she'd be great with Bomer. I'd skip right over Batgirl and start with Barbara as Oracle.

Keith David as Lucuis Fox

No, not David Keith, Keith David. It's hard to have a better voice than Morgan Freeman, but I think David might just be able to pull it off.

Glenn Close as Doctor Leslie Thompkins

Close would be perfect as the female influence in Bruce Wayne's life.

Adrian Brody as The Joker

Brody was my favourite for The Joker before TDK and he's my favourite after.

Beth Riesgraf as Harley Quinn / Harleen Quinze

Any one who watches Levarage knows she's perfect for Harley.

Lena Headey as Catwoman / Selina Kyle

I think she's have great chemistry with Purefoy and she'd just make a great Catwoman.

Alan Tudyk as The Riddler / Edward Ngyma

Tudyk is a fan favourite and it just makes sense to have a red head for The Riddler.

David Suchet as The Penguin / Oswald Cobblepot

Suchet is a fantastic British Actor who would be great in a big role like this.

Dominic West as Two-Face / Harvey Dent

West is an awesome actor, the transformation from heroic Dent to villainous Two-Face would be no problem for him.

Carla Gugino as Poison Ivy / Pamela Isley

Hubba hubba. Nuff said.

Simon Pegg as The Mad Hatter / Jervis Tetch

I love Pegg. It would be fun to see him as a villain.

Derek Mears as Killer Croc / Waylon Jones

He's just a great physical actor. Croc would be a great role for him.

Mackenzie Crook as The Scarecrow / Jonathan Crane

Crook is super skinny and super creepy. What more can you ask?

Geoffrey Rush as Doctor Hugo Strange

Rush is one of my favourite actors. I love the character of Hugo Strange and I loved to see Rush in the role.

Mads Mikkelsen as Ra's Al Ghul

Who doesn't love Mads? Just picture him and Purefoy in a shirtless sword fight.

Rachel Weisz as Talia Al Ghul

I considered her for Catwoman, but I thought she was better for Talia. She'd be pretty much perfect.

Additional Casting -

Christopher Eccelston as Mr Freeze

Danny Trejo as Bane

Simon Baker as Hush

Desmond Harrington as Deadshot

Paul Giamatti as Professor Pyg

Sam Neill as Doctor Hurt

Brad Dourif as Doctor Arkham

Viggo Mortensen as Thomas Wayne

LOVE all your villain choices, especially Brody as the Joker and West as Harvey. Not too keen on the rest, but I can still see them working.

Excellent work here, 'dude'! ;)

Can not see a choice I do not like.

Purefoy is so underrated. I like them all. AND I'm glad you didn't pick young 20 ish actors for most parts. I got it in my head that most of the heroes we love should age some as we grow up. I'm a big boy now and don't like seeing Superman or Batman younger than me. Very good cast.
ROMACK

WOW! Really well done! I really liked the casting of Micheal Madsen, Alan Tudyk, and Carla Gugino. This is this most original Batman cast I have seen in awhile.

Wow, this is pretty fantastic! Purefoy would b perfect as an older Bats, and Mikklesen is a very unique and cool choice 4 Ra's. The only ones Im iffy about r Kingsley as Alfred n West as Dent only cos he left such a bad taste in my mouth after Punisher, but he was brilliant in The Wire so...
Overall though, really nice stuff, I'm actually working on a Batman cast myself at the moment, though my cast is younger, hope u check it out when I put it up though!

Btw, also if u got the chance hope u can check out my Superman cast, thanks!

this is a good cast. I would only change a few of them.
I would change Adrian Brody for Michael Sheen, I haven't seen Brody in anything that would make me think Joker.
Beth Riesgraf is great on leverage but I don't think she is the right kind of crazy for Harley.
I like Carla Gugino for Catwoman instead of Ivy.
Nickolai Coster Waldau is my pick for Two Face.

I am really digging this cast it is very original. I really like your Ras Al Ghul choice and your Harvey pick. Your Catwoman pick might be a little old.

Jolt17 - 10/10/2011, 7:57 PM
Purefoy indeed is awesome, but probably he doesn't really have the face of Batman behind the mask...saying that, I actually am a fan of Bomer for Bruce Wayne! But can't argue, the rest are very awesome, loving some of your picks in fact e.g. Scarecrow, Bullock, and others. Terrific job. :)

Good cast.
Most of them are very original choices.
Purefoy definitely has the badass side of Batman but i dont know i somehow still prefer Jon Hamm.

Brody would be [frick]ing awesome as Joker.

Desmond Harrington needs to do something in any CBM. He has that look and adting skill. He is great in Dexter. My favorite one from this awesome cast

It's great that you've added additional characters to the cast, but no info? Still GREAT JOB!
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 10/15/2011, 5:32 PM
I've put some words for the initial fan cast, and still Purefoy doesn't really have the face for Batman behind the mask and I personally prefer Bomer for that...but aside from that, this is still an impressive cast! And the additional casts are better in fact. Loving Eccleston, he deserves the role. Simon Baker for Hush would be interesting as well, and a better role I guess than the other roles people cast him for (you know he's frequently seen in The Flash fan cast either for Barry or Zoom - which I don't really like). The others are just as spot on, a very original and intriguing Deadshot foremost, and not really a fan of Viggo for Thomas though (he could be Doctor Doom!), but surely could work very well. To sum it all up, thumb up. :)
HaroldOfGalactus
HaroldOfGalactus - 10/15/2011, 7:17 PM
nice cast. I disagree with your Bane choice. Trejo is good, but I don't see him as Bane. My choice is Matt Willig. He's 6 ft 8, built like a freight train, and can act. He played lil chino on Dexter
HaroldOfGalactus
HaroldOfGalactus - 10/15/2011, 7:21 PM
also, Jolt has no effing clue what he is talking about. says Bbomer is a better face for Batman? really? a pretty boy calvin klein model is more batman to you than a guy who can kick your ass just by looking at you?
HaroldOfGalactus
HaroldOfGalactus - 10/15/2011, 7:23 PM
oh yeah, Kingsley does not look like Alfred. he is closer than Caine and john cleese and some of the other god awful choices I've seen lately, but Kingsley is a good actor, just not right for Alfred.
TerminatorMode
TerminatorMode - 10/15/2011, 8:27 PM
sick cast
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 10/17/2011, 2:56 AM
Harold Easy dude, I did say I prefer Bomer for Batman - behind the mask - personally (and who says Bruce Wayne can't have a face like a Calvin Klein model that he can easily take those many girls out!), plus you could say he quite resembles (including in his actions) a younger Bruce in 'White Collar'...so why not, in my opinion. And I'm not against Purefoy for Bats, just saying that he doesn't resemble Batman behind the mask that much. He kicks ass? Still a sure thing! :)
