Today, as we all know, it was announced that Batman will be featured in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Of course, the logo shows us something that looks like World's Finest while Snyder said Batman would only be an element in the story. It could go both ways at this point. I think it's a bit fast to both reboot Batman and bring two characters into each others' films so early when it's only the second movie that's placed in this one cinematic universe. I'm excited and it could work but I don't know what I should expect. Is Bruce only helping Lex fund the rebuilding of Metropolis? Is Bruce, maybe along with Lex, suspicious of this Superman? Or does Batman confront Superman straightforward?

Anyhow, Martian Manhunter.

In The Dark Knight Rises, I thought for a quick moment that we got the character. Someone called Captain Jones came into a scene and he was involved with the military. "Why would they give him a name if it wasn't relevant?" I thought. And then, he died. Do you guys know who I'm talking about? He was hung before Gotham on TV.

This guy.

Anyway, he's gone and as of right now, we're assuming the Nolan Batman is still out of continuity despite the Wayne Enterprises logo remaining the same in that easter egg from Man of Steel.

All that might be irrelevant. And this might be irrelevant, too. But it's a fun thought.

Today, Henry Lennix was chosen by Zach to come out and read a quote from The Dark Knight Returns as a way to reveal to the audience that Batman would be involved in the sequel. Now, he might've gotten Lennix because he wasn't busy and fans would still recognize him. Or, he could've gotten him because Lennix's part in the future of the DC cinematic universe could grow to become something like Fury or Coulson in the Marvel cinematic universe. Lennix played General Swanwick in Man of Steel and kept a watchful eye over Superman.

My theory isn't exactly a new one as a few months ago, Lennix was seen on the set wearing a motion capture suit and those who saw the photo immediately thought it was Manhunter. A post was written on this site about it but now that we didn't see anything like it in Man of Steel, I think that tells us something.

The scene must've been cut but still, why would there've been a scene where he wore a motion capture suit? Maybe he also played a background character as a Kryptonian follower of Zod that went uncredited? I don't think so.

Either way, I expect Lennix will be back as General Swanwick and he might develop a Gordon/Batman relationship with Superman... But could we get more scenes with his character that reveal to us that he isn't who he seems to be? I think there's a lot of potential.

Is this the face of J'onn J'onzz?

im sure i read that the Wayne satellite easter egg was just meant to be a thank you to Nolan for his help with the film.

either way it is interesting about the mo-cap suit.

Another point I forgot to mention -- Why bring in a character like Swanwick when you can bring in Lois's dad, who is also a general? Swanwick must have relevance in the future of Superman movies, I think, and the reason that makes the most sense to me involves him being a martian. As ridiculous as that may sound.

@MexicanSuperman There was a cut scene. If the theory is true, that would've been the scene, or at least a setup for something to come.

That's not Lennix in the mo cap suit it was a stunt double for Nam Ek.

@TonyChu Reports said otherwise. But if anyone has the casting info, post it.

I do think Lennix would be great for MM.

I thought the same thing when I saw the Mocap suit pictures, and kept an eye out for it when I saw MoS. Nothing like this was in the movie, so maybe they wanted to reveal Martian Manhunter, but decided otherwise, leter into the movie.

Only time will tell.

That wasnt Lennix. I posted that piece and found out after it wasn't him.

Still open to him being J'onn.

Every time I see an article like this, I have to go in with a pessimistic attitude.
In the Dark Knight Rises (which just can't be reboot canon), a special ops guy named(?) Captain Jones.... dies.

Sorry man, you're grasping at straws.
