WHY I BELIEVE AOU ISN'T GREAT FOR THE MCU!

Hey guys, just saw AOU an hour ago and I must say, do NOT!!! wait to see this movie. I had goosebumps the whole time, litterally AMAZING! But, I did have some concerns, and here they are.

First and foremost,
I would like to say before I begin that In no way shape or form am I knocking AOU at all! The movie litterally was AMAZING!!!! and I am looking forward to adding to my Marvel collection when it comes out on blu-ray. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, it was one HELL! of a ride.

But, I must admit that there was some things I believe that just aren't sitting right with me and it's driving me absolutely mad!!! So let's just kick start this fire shall we...

First!
I would like to start with the one and only thing that's picking at my head, which is the flow of the movie in the MCU movie as Phase 1 2 and 3 as a whole. The movie itself doesn't really flow really well or even pick up from where are heroes have left off in Phase 2.
Going back, ALL!!! the way back to Iron man (2007) Until Guardians of the Galaxy. Everything had a seriously amazing and escalated flow to it. Which kind of was like this:

PHASE 1:
Phase 1 was just intially getting everyone to like these Characters and love them. Showing everyone who they are, what they can do, and how they will eventually meet somewhere along the lines.

AVENGERS 1:
The heroes from Phase one are brought together to stop a threat that noone else could face. Once the fight and war with the Chitauri in New York was over, they all went their seperate ways into the world.

PHASE 2:
Phase 2 was the aftermath of the war and how these our heroes where effected by it, also hinting some points leading up into AOU! In this phase it got both a deeper tone, and not to mention, it also dug very deep into the characters themselves.

Now, After that's all been said I would like to dig very generally into what happened to our heroes in Phase 2 that SHOULD!!! have happened in AOU. Which are:

CAPTAIN AMERICA:
During Avengers 1, Captain America is just thawed off ice and automatically thrown into this alien war out of nowhere, so there seems to not really be to much character development with him. But when Cap gets his solo movie "Winter Soldier" We begin to see his character dealing with life in the new world. Digging into the fact that the world is changed and there's no more just black and white, but also some grey areas in between. We are also introduced to potentially a VERRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! important character again...Bucky Barnes. Caps best friend back in the forties. During this time, Captain america seems to want to salvage what evers left of morals and also with Bucky.

IRON MAN:
After the events of the war in New York, Tony stark is suffering from some severe anxiety and post traumatic stress syndrome. During the war he see's people like Thor Captain America, Aliens, Gods, etc. And starts to ask himself "Is it him! Or the Mask!" At the end of Iron man 3, he blows all of his suits and gives up being Iron man and Decides to change his life and start fresh.

THOR:
Thor ends up having to return to asgard with Loki as a prisoner, During the movie he must put trust in his brother and ask him to help save everyone from ancient being known as Malekith. At the end he gives up his right to the throne to return to earth with Jane.

Now! I will discuss a few very minor details of AOU, so if you wish to not! read past this point I totally understand.

Like I said early, everything from Phase 1, Avengers 1, Phase 2, Were both entertaining and logical towards the flow of all three phases. But AOU kind of throws itself into a whole different direction!!!

In Phase 2, the team was broken up and on their own, right from when the AOU starts there all together and it just seems that they've been together and never left. Meaning! it seems like nothing from Phase 2 even F+++++++ Happened?!

With Captain America, there's no mention of Bucky Barnes. I mean, think about it??? Chris Evans contract is up after Infinity war part 2, his second movie was "Winter Soldier", and Civil war is on it's way. I think from this point it's safe to say that Steve is going to die and Bucky Barnes will carry on the shield from there. There is no mention even to carry out Captain America from Phase 2, not that he's worried about him or wonders where he is, nothing!

With Ironman, he never quite in AOU, from the beginning he's right there in your face once again in full suit with seemingly no intentions are mentioning of the fact that he's trying to turn his life around, or playing a liason to the Avengers or anything. Like I said, no carry out from Phase 2 at all.

With Thor, I'll admit. I don't think there was nothing else much to carry on with Thor.

WHAT COULD OF HAPPENED TO CHANGE THESE ERRORS?????

+ Show them all coming back together when ever through out the movie
(EXAMPLE: When Tony Creates Ultron, when quicksilver and Scarlet witch are introduced, Whatever.)

+ Show how there Characters developed or changed from phase 2....PERIOD!!!

In conclusion, guys, just think about it! I understand the hype of Age of Ultron, I was!!! one of them. But the fact of the matter is is that this is not a stand alone movie or even a trilogy for that matter! This is litterally what Kevin Feige and everyone else around the world is calling it, A UNIVERSE!!! And within that universe is a very large story. Would anyone like a story that Jumps around causing confusion, I don't think so. But then again, all this could mean alot leading into Phase 3. I'm just saying there is a beginning, a middle, and an end to every story. And this needed to be one of those, NOT!!! AN EVENT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

P.S Farwell Joss Whedon. I didn't mean to insult you in anyway. I believe you are a great!!! writer and a great!!! director and your flair on the MCU will be very missed!

THANK YOU!

Your kind of rambling here, but

Stark never gave up being Iron Man in Iron Man 3.

And, there is mention of Bucky, Falcon mentions him at the party.

There are actually references to phase 2 all over this movie and other easter eggs for the future of the MCU as well

I agree with @DrKinsolving you did alot of rambling and its obvious you missed alot of easter eggs from the Phase 2 movies...

Falcon mentioned he was tracking down a "missing person" its very obvious they are referring to Bucky...Cap constantly references the events of Winter Soldier by referencing SHIELDs dismantlement and how well he knows Black Widow....

Thor's visions and insight exposition of the Infinity gems references not just the Tesseract and Sceptor/Mind Stone but also we see he is now aware that the Aether and the Orb/Power Stone from his movie and GOTG...

There were only 3 movies in Phase 2..1 of which had only a few connection to the others and thats GOTG with the Infinity Stone, the Collector and Thanos.....now with Phase three starting with Antman..we will have Antman, Civil War, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange , and Thor Ragnorock..thats 5 movies before the first part of Avengers 3...Antman, Spider-man, and Doctor Strange will introduce new characters and elements to the universe including maybe one more Stone...while Civil War and Thor 3 will give us a continuation of the aftermath of Age of Ultron as well as introduce new characters such as Black Panther and Spider-Man...

I feel Age of Ultron is the perfect Middle movie of a Triology...the first one got us hooked...the second one shifted to a deeper view of the characters and started the transition into Civil War and Infinity War (Tony and Stark's different ideals..Thors visions of the Infinity Stone and him coming to the conclusion that someone is the mastermind behind the stones sudden appearances around the universe) It is the perfect mid point movie til we get to the big 2 part Climax of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was started with Iron Man....
