X-Men Fancast

X-Men Fancast

How I would cast an X-Men film if I could choose any actors at any point in their career.

This is my X-Men Cast in a perfect world where time and age is not an issue. I have picked out certain actors at their appropriate age when they would be best fit to play these characters. I hope this explaination is enough that I don't get comments about why I would choose some actors who could not possibly play the characters because of their current age. Hopefully this is obvious when you see some of my choices.

This is a slightly different approach than the fancasts I have seen before on here and I just thought it would be fun to switch things up a bit by removing some limitations. So without further adieu...

Professor X - Hugo Weaving

Cyclops - Tom Cruise

Jean Grey - Nicole Kidman

Wolverine - Clint Eastwood

Storm - Angela Bassett

Beast - Mads Mikkelsen

Rogue - Kate Mara

Gambit - Matthew Bomer

Iceman - Eddie Redmayne

Nightcrawler - James Frain

Colossus - Dolph Lundgren

Jubilee - Kristen Kreuk

Magneto - Rutger Hauer

Sabertooth - Kevin Durand

Mystique - Jennifer Connelly

Toad - John Hawkes

Juggernaut - Nathan Jones

So there you have it. The X-Men movie that will never exsist except inside my head. Comments are welcome!

Excellent Casting, I definitely think this would have been epic if you got these actors earlier in their careers to do this film with today's technology.

@SpidermanMarvel39

Couldn't disagree with you more. It a cast of actors from any period in their career. I think there are some great choices.

Personal favs are Kate Mara for Rogue, Franklin Mott for Nightcrawler and Bomber for Gambit.

Good casting in my opinion.

Sorry about not including any explainations for each cast memeber. To be honest, I was too tired the other night to write down individual explainations for each one, but if I get enough free time here soon, I'll add them in.

@SpidermanMarvel39

Sorry we can't see eye to eye on this but I just wanted to correct one thing you said. Kevin Durand was never in an X-Men film. I think your confusing him with Vinny Jones who played Juggernaut in Last Stand. Kevin Durand is one of the few decent large actors out there. Besides lets face it, you don't need to be a shakespearean actor to pull off Sabertooth.

Kevin Durand was The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Not a bad cast overall though

I love Clint eastwood, he would be awesome as Wolvie, but he is too tall to be Wolverine. I think a young Mel Gibson would be the perfect choice for Wolverine.

That's James Frain that you've cast as Nightcrawler. Franklin Mott was the name of his True Blood character. Cool cast, I don't really see Bomer as Gambit though...a young Oliver Martinez would own the role.

I always thought young Robert Redford would own as Cyclops

Some good choices: Jean, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus.

Some bad choices: Professor Xavier, Cyclops, Rogue.

And some meh choices: everyone else.

I don't know what it is but there's something wrong with Kate Mara's face.

Cyclops is 6'3", Cruise is 5'8".

Clint Eastwood is 6'4" Wolverine is 5'3".

The rest not so shabby.

I'm sitting in an airport at the moment and don't feel like editing my fastcasy article, but I thought I'd go ahead and comment on some of my choices instead.

Professor X- first off, u need a strong actor to pull off Xavior. You also need done one who fits the look. Some very distinct characteristics of Xavior in the comics is his eyebrows and his eyes. I think if you really look at Hugo he has that look as if he could look into your mind and read your thoughts.

Cyclops- ok, I get it. A lot if people don't like Tom Cruise personally. I could probably agree with you that he is a weirdo on occasion. However, he is a great actor and I don't think that's disputable. He is very much a leader in all his movies. He also looks like Cyclops, especially in his younger years. And as someone mentioned up above, Scott summers is kind of a douchbag anyways. Very disciplined and plays by the rules. Cruise is all of these.

Wolverine- come on, Clint Wood may be tall, but wolverine has been modeled after characters like dirty hairy and many of his western movie roles. He is a straight up bad ass! I not overly concerned with wolverines height anymore as long as they get his attitude right.

Jean Grey- Nicole Kidman is an incredible actress. And in her younger years she looked more like Jean Grey than anyone I have ever seen. With red hair to boot! I don't even feel as though I should have to defend this pick. I mean, just look at her!

Ok, that's all I'll say for now. Tired of typing on my phone, lol.

Angela Basset is the only choice I can get on board with here.

More importantly, one of my favourite characters (Cyclops) is now linked in my mind to Tom Cruise. I dont think I can ever forgive you for that.

Nicole Kidman is also a terrible choice. IMHO
