Deadline Hollywood reports that Nu Image/Millennium had narrowed the list down to two: Kellan Lutz (from the Twilight films, the new 90210 and A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jason Momoa (from Stargate: Atlantis). Apparently now their is a third name in the hat, but all we know is its “another unnamed but better established actor.”
Momoa, who is half Hawaiian, would certainly be a different look for Conan, he is huge and intimidating looking, but having seen his acting on Stargate, I'm not too impressed. Lutz seems far too young and is in Twilight and 90210...thats all:)
Anyway, nothing is set in stone. But hopefully whoever this third man is, he's of a slightly higher caliber. This casting call gives you some idea of what Markus Nispel and Millenium will be looking for:
"He’s in his 20s to early 30s, Caucasian, powerfully built, broad-shouldered, sun browned skin lined with scars. Piercing blue eyes and square-cut black mane, tall. He is prepared to die in order to accomplish his goal. What Conan did not expect, was to find a reason to live…"
