Conan trailer to be released in April

Fantasy Fr. report we will see the trailer in April as well as a few other bit of interesting news.

Conan will be rated R (No one under 17 years of age unaccompanied by an adult). A ranking probably due to the violence and nudity. Contrary to what had been indicated Said Taghmaoui, the movie will not look like 300, although some of the special effects are "stylized". For example, the blood will be real (blood bags on the players) and not graphics as in Zach Snyder's film in the series or Spartacus.

The trailer will be visible by next April. The composer's name will be announced shortly.

Conan stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan and Ron Perlman and is set for a Summer release on August 19, 2011 and is Directed by Marcus Nispel.

Yeah it's good to know that Lionsgate is ready to promote this soon considering that Lionsgate is run by a leftover of Fox's morons and some even stupider. lol

The R rating is promising, but having to wait until April for a trailer? That's taking the piss...

How do you figure? CONAN isn't being released until August 19th, 2011.....the trailer debuts 5 months before the movie. Seems about right to me...

Oh, and according to Nispel it's not just Rated-R....it's HARD R! I'm psyched for this film!!!

Guess you're right... just kind of anxious to see what it looks like. Pictures aren't doing it for me. Momoa does look the part according to Robert E Howard's vision as far as I can tell from the pics (more than Arnie ever did imo), but I want to hear him talk, a tiny bit of action to get an idea of how the movie is being shot... just to feel safe, lol. Used to read a lot of Savage Sword back when I was a kid, big fan. Have high hopes for this movie and hope they don't screw it up. Looking good so far, hope it does justice to the character.

I can't wait to see the trailer...hope its gonna be really good. Benzaie mentioned the first film, despite its cheesy-ness actually is full of meaning. The Krom speech Conan gives is basically saying that He doesn't need his god to help him get revenge, that Thulsa Doom's flesh is stronger than steel references religion and how powerful of a grip it has on a person or people . Same with what Max von Sydow says about his daughter...its a deep film worth despite have ARNOLD!!!!

I think Momoa was the best choice and if Nispel is on form it could be amazing!I love the character and think that what we've seen so far is closer to the novels than anything previous.Forget the films and the comics.Read the books and you'll see what they've gone for with this.I'm psyched :)
