We've all seen the new Conan images, but now www.conanmovieblog.com has revealed the cast member depicted in one of the pics is Raad Rawi (Green Zone, Traitor, The Kingdom) playing Fassir.
Here is a cast description of the character he plays, Fassir. This may be changed due to frequent changes in the script (most notably making the male character Fariq a female character called Marique now played by Rose McGowan).
"[ FASSIR ] He’s in his 50s, Middle Eastern, Asian, Caucasian, SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES, strict yet loving, learned and spiritual, an elder monk and leader of the monastery. He’s charged with the care and education of the queen, Ilira. SUPPORTING"
According to online reports, Conan is now undergoing conversion to 3D as confirmed by the Nu Image website and Rose McGowan. It is set for a unknown release in 2011.
After his father is murdered and village destroyed, Conan ventures into an unforgiving world where he survives as a thief, pirate, and warrior. On his path of wanton adventure and women, Conan chances upon the warlord responsible his tribe's destruction. As he tracks Khalar Zym, Conan battles monsters, Zym's henchmen, and Marique, a powerful witch.
Based on the character created by Robert E. Howard, Conan stars Jason Momoa, Stephen Lang, Rachel Nichols, Ron Perlman and Rose McGowan, and is directed by Marcus Nispel.
