Since it was recently announced that Rose McGowan was to star in the Marcus Nispel Conan there has been much speculation that Rose would no longer star as Red Sonja or that the film is dead all together, or that she will appear as Red Sonja in the new Conan film. This is not true.

Robert Rodriguez recently said in an interview to MTV about the current status of the film.
“They’re actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that — to see how that works for them.”
One thing still remains unknown and that is if Red Sonja will film after Conan finishes filming or after Conan preimers next year.
There is zero possibility of Red Sonja appearing in the Conan film. Both franchises are owned by unrelated independent companies. Red Sonja is a trademark of LLC, and Conan is a trademark of CPI/Paradox
