Fans of J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts franchise will get a mini world tour, as each film in the franchise - of which there are three remaining - will reportedly be set in a different city.

While the Harry Potter series of films were set primarily in London, England, 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which kicked off the new prequel saga, shifted the setting to New York City. And as we've learned, the second title, The Crimes of Grindelwald, will largely take place in Paris, France.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director David Yates confirmed the remaining three films will follow suit. "Jo's already told us where the next one is taking place. It’s very exciting. This is a global story, ultimately. And given that there’s a global audience for this, it’s all the more delightful to take the story to different parts of the world.”

Although Yates wouldn't reveal where Fantastic Beasts will go next, EW reasons Germany would be a likely location given all of the World War II allusions in the story of Grindelwald.

My guess is the next one takes place somewhere in China. What better way to boost your profitability?

I hope the next one is better than FB:AWTFT. I had such a hard time staying awake watching the first one, took me four attempts before I finally completed it. That's never been a problem with me for any of the Harry Potter films.

It should be interesting seeing them go through the decades, similar to what the X-Men franchise has done. Perhaps there will be some impact from World War Two in a future Fantastic Beast film?

I'd like to see the series go back to the United States and set a movie in Detroit, because back than the city was beautiful.

Fantastic Beasts 1 was such a disappointingly flawed movie. It never seemed to make up its mind as to whether it wanted to be intimate comedic adventure about trying to recapture some magical animals, with a sprinkling of romance, or whether it was a dark and serious epic about the rise of evil and the looming threat to come. In the end it just ended up being an unsatisfying mish-mash of the two which is a real shame.

@528491 - No, it was supposed to be a darkly whimsical, tense, chaotic film about Grindelwald attacking New York with an Obscurus. You not caring to understand this is the problem.

Also, "comedic"? The Harry Potter franchise is known for being a very slow, intense, dark drama. Fantastic Beasts is no different. Just because there are funnier parts in the film definitely does NOT mean it's in any way a comedy. Go away.

The main focus of the film being Grindelwald's attempt to expose the Wizarding community of New York was made very clear. The fact that you didn't understand that is again, your own damn fault.
