FANTASTIC BEASTS 3 Sets A New Release Date Following Johnny Depp's Firing As Gellert Grindelwald

Warner Bros. has put Fantastic Beasts 3 back on the release calendar after it was delayed on Friday, and you can find out when the threequel - which won't star Johnny Depp - arrives in theaters right here!

Deadline confirms that Fantastic Beasts 3 has secured a new release date after being removed from the calendar on Friday. The movie was unset after Johnny Depp confirmed that Warner Bros. had asked him to step down from the role of Gellert Grindelwald.

This came to pass after Depp's dirty laundry was aired in public during a libel battle against The Sun newspaper. Ultimately, a UK judge decided that the publication was justified in branding him a "wife-beater." That was said in relation to claims his ex-wife, Amber Heard, had made about the time they spent together.

After previously being dated for November 12th, 2021, the untitled Fantastic Beasts threequel is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 15th, 2022.

Harry Potter movies The Order of the Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 all debuted in similar slots, but the bad news for this movie is that it's coming out a week after Captain Marvel 2. As a result, it's hard to imagine it being able to reach the #1 spot at the box office.

The trade also notes that, "I hear that it’s unlikely to be the previous actor who played [Gellert Grindelwald] in [Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them], Colin Farrell, as he is busy playing The Penguin in Warner’s The Batman which is currently shooting."

Are you excited for Fantastic Beasts 3?

Now it's time for WB to follow suit with Ezra and Amber Heard

Right??

@BigMikeReviews - They won't because Amber Heard is the victim.

She is hot as f*ck as well.

@BigMikeReviews - Miller’s an absolute trash actor, and they like to hit women too. Legit zero reason to keep them on

@BigMikeReviews - One is a woman and the other is a member of the LGBTQ community, they're as untouchable as Eliot Ness.

@LilJimmy - Yeah The Sun newspaper called him a wife beater and Depp took them to court and lost.

So Amber Heard is the victim to his wife beating ways.

So they'll punish Depp because he is a man and Amber Heard will keep her job.

Screw Fantastic Beasts, the first movie works fine on its own and the sequel was garbage

@dracula - The first movie was the epitome of boring. At least the sequel had a thrilling opening sequence.

@Godzillakartt - On 11/2 a judge ruled that 12 of the 14 allegations in the libel case, proved to probable. I don't know what exact evidence was brought to light, but that's how the judge ruled.

Campea mentioned (not a scoop he necessarily believed) that Robert Downey Jr is being looked at to replace Depp

I think Depp was the best part of Crimes of Grindelwald, which is still my least favorite movie in the Harry Potter universe, but still Depp I felt was legitimately good. Shame it ended up this way

Maybe The Batman could get that November 2021 date then? (A man can hope!)
