Figured I might as well take the time to post the thoughts and facts I have on why GL is on it's way to being a success and movie all of us fanboys/girls alike should enjoy.I admit some of mine are similar and related to what others have said here, but the post was too big to leave in a comment,so I went the extra mile and completed this post with all of the details I could and typed out every reason I'm excited for this movie in-depth.(By the way,GL's definitely my fave hero but I'm in no way biased with the whole DC/Marvel thing,or with the other CBM's coming this year..I'm excited to see em' all!!).Please feel free to comment below and join in on what I've had to say, look forward to seeing the response since this is my first article here with CBM.com.Here we go...

1.Geoff Johns, the Chief Creative Officer over at DC Entertainment and the sole man/writer behind the resurgence of GL through some of the most popular story arc's at DC Comics to date,is the co-producer of this film and has been quoted saying how amazed he's been with the performance of Ryan as Hal since he's been on set nearly EVERY day during production/filming.Ryan Reynolds himself has also said during an interview that "Secret Origin" has been his bible during filming and that any time he has a question on something or if he wants to know if something can be corrected,he goes to Mr.Johns for suggestions/confirmation along with Martin Campbell.

2.Which brings me to Mr.Campbell himself. He's the director behind GoldenEye,Mask of Zorro,Casino Royale and Edge of Darkness(darn good film with Mel Gibson, suggest you see it if you haven't) so we should all be aware that this is a man who's done action films and has done them well. You can even read an interview with him from ComingSoon.net as he speaks on his fascination with the character and world, how he plans to keep the film close to the origin story illustrated in the comics and is looking forward to bringing the amazing F/X to life without letting the film get much of a 'cheesy' tone to it at all(http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=62408 - Half way down the interview).

3.As @MultiPurposeNaji has said in an article here, the design team behind this is outstanding. We've got Neville Page who's worked on Avatar,Minority Report,Chronicles of Narnia,Cloverfield,Watchmen, the latest Star Trek and Tron: Legacy.Academy-Award winning Ngila Dickson who's worked on ALL 3 Lord of the Rings as well as Blood Diamond.Grant Major who has also worked on all 3 Lord of the Rings and King Kong too.Needless to say these people are definitely great at bringing new worlds to life on the big screen and Oa is something that is looking VERY good without the post-production even being complete yet.

4.Ryan Reynolds.Yes the man from Van Wilder but also the man from Smokin Aces,Chaos Theory,The Proposal(yes..I know, but he did damn good) and Buried. He looks like a younger Hal Jordan(this is an origin story people!) and he naturally has the demeanor that Hal does.Hal was a cocky,hard-headed,lady loving pilot who cracked jokes and was quick to fight..however,after receiving his great deal of responsibility from the Green Lantern Corps it humbled him and gave him a completely new lease on life.I know for a fact that this is something Ryan can,and will, pull off beautifully..and like I said Geoff has been quoted saying how impressed he's been with his performance as well.Plus if we're talking about box office numbers here,Ryan is not only one of Hollywood's hottest up-and-coming A-List actors but was named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2010..so his presence on a summer blockbuster alone will bring in some ticket sales from the general public and ladies as well.

5.I'm sure we all know how important a nice score is to a film and James Newton-Howard has been confirmed as the composer of this one.He worked along with Hans Zimmer for The Dark Knight's soundtrack..sold in my book.

So there you have it,those are pretty much the main points I wanted to get across and share with everybody.GL's the man and I'm just as ready to see this as Thor and possibly Cap(never been much of a fan of his but willing to see it).Warner Bros. is apparently gonna give it all it's got(sequel being written already, theme park ride being built at Six Flags Magic Mountain and possible promo deals with fast food chains) and I couldn't be happier considering how great it sounds like it's turning out already.I personally liked the 1st trailer but I'm positive the 2nd official one will be even better considering how far the post-production will have come by then..meaning refined and polished suits, possibly a bit more action and more of the look and tone the movie will portray since it's been rumored that the 1st was rushed out by Warner to co-exist with Thor,Cap,etc. The F/X team that hurried up for the trailer was not even the official team behind the film.Academy-Award winning Sony ImageWorks(Spider-Man 2,Watchmen,2012 and Alice In Wonderland) are the ones that'll be behind it.With all that said I'll definitely be there on June 17th,I'm one truely excited fan and am happy we're all able to see these CBM's..should be a good summer and upcoming 2012.

I totally agree with you on everything but this is too much from us. Some GL fans somewhat whine about Green Lantern now, and it feels like some are insecure which I do not understand, so this doesn't help. No offence meant at all but this is getting too much.
I appreciate this article, your sincerity and I am with on all those issues but hopefully this will be the last Green Lantern film-related article for a while.

Sincerely Angelus.

Here's another one!

Wow. Sorry guys but for fans of a character built on courage and willpower, you guys come across as a bunch of insecure pussies.

Sorry to be so abrasive but these comments/editorials are coming out ad nauseum no.

Just for the record I am a Marvel fan who is hoping for a good entertaining GL movie. And I believe we will get one.

What you guys should have been doing is absorbing the negativity quietly and then when the real (not ruched for Harry Potter) blow-mind trailer comes out fire back out the GL detractors with a vengeance.

Is James Newton Howard working on the score right now or is it probably done by now?

@Coldblood6 Ha ha that's coldblooded!

Yeah, a lot of whining! I feel ya GL fans, really, but you don't have to be so defensive yet. It'll make money. It won't kill the box office because the summer is overcrowded this year (even Thor and Cap might not be huge and I don't expect any to be #1 of the summer). Lets wait & see a second trailer. Personally I'm not hyped by what I've seen, but I'll see GL. Maybe another trailer will change things.

Most importantly I think the next trailer must show the power of the ring. GL is not a mutant, not an alien and not a billionaire. He's something different. They need to show what his abilities really are and stop with all the "responsibility" stuff we got hit over the head with in all 3 Spider-Man films. I guess that angle of the first trailer is partially what bored me. A big green fist is a tame example of the rings power. If they can up the action and show off that the ring will do whatever Hal thinks up then that could really hook the general audience.

I feel you guys on all of that(@CapFan79,@Angelus and @ColdBlood6) just wanted to get my thoughts out on it also since it was too large to post in a comment alone. This'll be the last I comment on the GL movie at all until the 2nd trailer comes out(supposedly with Snyder's Sucker Punch)..excited to see these CBM's

Seriously?! Come on GL fans, enough with all the damn articles! We shouldnt have to prove why it will be good, lets just wait for it to come out so we can prove all the doubters wrong.

@ CapFan79 & Intruder

That's my name bub. LOL.

Seriously GL fans. You guys sound very insecure and you sound more like you are trying to convince yourselves more than anyone else.

Like a said in another one of these editorials, I am an emphatic X-men fan and I am guaranteed an utter garbage movie this summer in a franchise that has lost all respect for the mythos and has no consideration whatsoever for the fans. I've dealt with it.

At least you guys have a chance of a good movie.

@ColdBlood6 Nahhh just wanted to get my thoughts out on it at the moment and wasn't a spot big enough besides posting up an editorial. That is true tho with the X-Men(got about 30 comics of those myself)..1st Class wouldn't have been that bad if they didn't screw up with the character choices tho.Trailer wasn't too shabby today but it makes NO sense why there's no Cyclops or Jean at least..Magneto ftw

@Celtic527 LoL.Yea I think that's what we'll all be doing.Hope the suit comes out looking like the replica statues they released images for today
