A Closer Look at Hal Jordan in the Upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series!

And it looks great!

Warner Brothers has now released a picture from Green Lantern: The Animated Series in high resolution. WB has also announced the schedule at Comic Con for the GL:TAS panel:

"Friday, July 22, 2011 2:00–3:00 p.m. Room 6BCF
Green Lantern: The Animated Series Video Presentation and Q and A.
"

The lucky fans will be able to watch exclusive footage of this highly anticipated new superhero/space epic series at Comic-Con. The infamous animator, producer and artist Bruce Timm will be at the panel.
Along with Warner Bros. Animation’s Sam Register (Teen Titans), producer Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and producer/story editor Jim Krieg (Ben 10: Alien Swarm).

Anyway, here's the image you've been waiting for:

If you wanna see it alot bigger then click here: HERE

I know some of you probably didn't except a style so much alike the former work of Bruce Timm. I however find this very exciting! We don't know for certain untill we've seen it in action but the potential truly shines through here. If it can embody the vastness of different and dark themes like Star Wars: The Clone Wars then this can really be something else! I am keeping a very wide and keen eye on this project as it continues!
By default we will probably experience many different planets and probably a great deal of famous DC characters, galactic and maybe some earthbound. It would be beyond great to see Hal and Barry just for a few seconds! I can't see any reasons why they won't feature the Man of Steel himself in one episode.
What do you guys think?

Green Lantern: The Animated Series will center Hal Jordan and his partner Kilowog who find themselves alone on the edge of the Guardian Frontier fighting off an invasion by the deadly Red Lantern Corps.

I think it looks great, I have been hoping for another CGI comics series after Spider Man on MTV was canceled almost 10 years ago. Iron Man changed the character too much, with the high school setting. Hopefully Batman and maybe Superman will show up for an episode.

Aside from completely messing up on Hal Jordon's personality (he was more Kyle Rayner than Hal), Ryan Reynolds has the skinniest, pointiest face. There's a reason why EVERY comic book artist portrays Hal with a square jaw.

I am looking forward for this. If they can feature any character from the Justice League, be it John Stewart, fFlash, Bats, WW or Supes, even Martian Manhunter or Captain Marvel it will be great. I like that the producer has worked on Star Wars. I love that show! Just make it as awesome as Green Lantern really is!!

@Ruka Green Lantern didn't suck. It was by no means the best comicbookmovie but it was not the worst. It had it's flaws and points. The sequel will make up for it ;)

Now this looks great! We need to see more motion pictures but I like Timms style. I was skeptical to The Clone Wars series but I am hooked. GL:TAS can be really great if they explore the different aspects of the universe. Darkness and light is needed!! Relationship between Hal and Sinestro = WIN! And don't forget some JLA! Otherwise, you'll see me at the panel!!! =D

Terrible. What is wrong with hand drawn animation? CGI is just cheap and lazy. Terrible.

@Ruka No? Have I ever said I enjoyed the Fantastic Four movie series at all? I can't even fathom why or how you could compare them, which I believe is your intent. Sequel will and must be better. WB probably got the reviews and a light must have gone up. The relationship between Hal and Sinestro must be explored. More Corps, more space, less earth. I think they can do that.

@TDCR - Thanks! =)

One picture? One picture is supposed to radically change the way we all feel about the lousy CGI footage we've seen? The articles on this site continue to reach.

Not a fan of this animation style....

But it looks pretty darn good in this picture.

Might pick up the DVD if the stories are interesting.

That's why I didn't like 'The Clone Wars', I've seen that Star Wars shit in the prequels already.

Young Justice FTW!

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is an example of an animation style I and many others did not like...

And we all know how that turned out... it was awesome.

I like Clone Wars, but I don't think this style really translates very well to CG. It would've made sense to just go with the style of First Flight and Emerald Knights since it works well and would have saved them time.

Love it. Then again, this is what I expected from the get go. Bruce Timm wasn't gonna change his style just because the show is CG animated.

@Angelus
Bruce Timm said that the show won't have too many guests from the larger DCU in an interview sometime last year.

That "Old" Batman The Animated Series was lightning in a jug! That show had pure style and some tuly great storytelling. They refined that slick art style for the final season and made their best season ever. The Justice league cartoon continued to carry the torch and now we have this. All I can say is, DON'T DROP THE TORCH! If they do, Rome burns!

Look's awesome! I don't get all the haters?! CG allows for more dynamic camera angles's and lighting, giving a more movie like experience. As other's are speculating, a cross between The Incredible's and The Clone Wars. This has the potential to hearken back to the serialized days of the 40's and 50's sci-fi and adventure.
