Unknown Actor Looking To Play Green Lantern!

Are you ready to see a fresh face on the big screen as Hal Jordan? This actor wants to be that face.

For years, Green Lantern fans have been looking for a film about the greatest of Earth's Lanterns, Hal Jordan. Those of us who realize that Hal is the best have one simple goal in mind: find an actor who is good enough to fill those green boots. Many of us keep up with the Green Lantern news here on CBM, and many are probably aware of the fact that Aaron Eckhart was eyeing the role of Hal Jordan for a time. Let's face it (no pun intended), the guy played a great Harvey Dent. However, if you're like me, you'd be making Dent jokes throughout the entire film if he got the role. I'm an actor myself, and so, in my own opinion, if you want the job done right, you have to do it yourself.

Now quite frankly, there are going to be those of you that disagree with the idea that I ought to have the part. After all, the only reason you may have heard of me is if you keep up with independent film news. I recently nabbed the lead role in Firestorm Pictures' “Apparition,” which debuts in Houston somewhere near the beginning of May. However, a horror film doesn't necessarily qualify an actor to play a character of this magnitude, does it?
This is where expertise comes into play. If you want the part done right, you have to have someone that's been keeping up with the comics since he was little, and who has pondered all the subtleties of the character. This is, after all, what an actor does. So, it only seems logical to tell Warner Brothers that Hal Jordan is one of those characters meant to be portrayed by one of the fans. That's why I made this petition.
Now I have to be very frank with you all; I'm a hardcore GL fan. I live and breathe this guy. I loved it when they brought Hal back from the Parallax/Spectre stuff into GL again, and I love what Geoff Johns has done with the character (I can't say I feel the same way about the way Batman is currently being written, but that's a different story). I love the way that Johns talks about the different ways in which each Lantern will use his ring-- from John Stewart's highly detailed designs, to Kyle Rayner's artistic creativity with the ring, and ol' Hal's precision. Each character is brought to life through Johns' stories, and I think you'll agree that it's important to have someone that appreciates the incredible details of why Hal Jordan was, is, and always will be, the greatest of the Green Lanterns.
If you have the same ideas that I do in regards to the character's portrayal and would be interested in me obtaining the role, please take a few seconds to fill out the petition at the link below. I believe you can view the signatures and comments of people who have already signed, so by all means, don't blindly sign the thing. Take some time to read what other people have to say about how I can act, since that is, after all, what this thing is all about. Once an ample number of signatures are collected, this will be sent off to Warner Brothers in the interest of having them hear the cries of the fans.
Whether you finished this article and feel convinced, or you have a horrible sickness in the pit of your stomach, thanks for reading!

Now, I'm not a huge Green Lantern fan like you, but is there anyway you can show us some of your work?

Maybe on youtube or something, because, like you said, a horror movie isn't much to judge by, but it's better than nothing.

Got any clips or anything you can let us see? I want to see what quality I'll be getting if I sign that petition.

@ Andrew

I disagree with that statement....because Pan's labyrinth was a FOREIGN INDEPENDENT FILM....and Slum dog was LIMITED independent release....until it became WIDE main stream after its success. The only reaosn we have independent films is because SAG wont let everyone ACT, because Hollywood is ran by the JEWS....and they only give it to people who are in their circle..that means either your a jew, or your one of their friends. Take Shia Labeauf....got into INDY 4 [piece of shit movie btw]...because of Michael Bay.

With that being said, I do disagree....I dont think most of them are low budget, because most of them dont need a big budget to start with. Lastly, most independent movies and limited releases have BETTER SCRIPTS than MAIN STREAM MOVIES.

I'd watch a limited, foreign, or independent release over most of the shit they feed us today.

For example, ...Still waiting?...Donni Darko 2?....Spiderman 3? Slumdog Millionaire [been done by India like a billion times, japan like twice]...but a white guy makes the movie so it gets nominated?

@ Lantern Fan

...If you want to be famous....go to Holylwood...and associate yourself with TV and Movie production...only way to do that is if you know someone thats already in it...or if you have contacts.

Lucky for me...my friend is in SAG. If I get to know you better might as well get you to participate so you can be a memember. ONLY MEMBERS of SAG can be in holylwood movies....and in order to do that you have to have alot of backgroud work in films and recommendation from set directors and DAs and Pas....and they will also have to see if you have been reward 3 vouchers...if you dont have 3 vouchers that means you cant be a member.

There are other ways....I know alot about this stuff. Best of luck to you. I hope my advice helped.

Thanks for the advice, Aiiwolf. I have to be honest, though, I don't want to get the part for the express purpose of being famous. I just want to be able to get roles that I feel I could portray well. This happens to be one of them. I'd LOVE to go to Hollywood and do the all the cool stuff that Hollywood actors can do, but resources for resume building are pretty dang limited in Houston.

I've been trying to get SAG films, sure, but until now I've just been trying to find films period. Once I saw that GL was going to be taking place, I just figured it was all or nothing, basically. I REALLY want to do this, and I totally understand the skepticism from everyone here. Being a fan myself, I'd be skeptical, too. It doesn't bother me. I just want to do the best job I can in the acting world, and I feel like GL is a great way to start. Then again, a LOT of actors feel the same way. I really did plan on starting off small and working for many years until I had finally gained respect, but this role would mean so much to me. I'm willing to do what it takes to get it, if indeed there is something that can be done.

Aiiwolf or anyone that can or will help, I appreciate you immensely, regardless of whether efforts end in nothing or they end in an amazing career from this point forth.

Sorry if I rambled. :P

Aiiwolf - 3/4/2009, 11:23 PM
No, you didnt Ramble. Its fine. I can totally understand that...If you want to do the best job you can in acting and thats your attitude...than I can totally see you successful. I wish I had more peopel like you down in Texas.

I like making films and I'm planning on making my own personal Batman movie where I can use cinematography and make it look like high budget but it isnt...and entering that in the Texas Film Festival.

Make films and enter them in festivals....It would be nice to make a GL film with you...If that was possible...I'd love to be Kyle. [aka Ion]

That would be crazy amounts of fun, Aiiwolf. I'd get a huge kick out of that!

To anyone waiting for a youtube video or something, I have a special event coming up on Monday night that I'll have recorded, so I'll post a link somewhere around Monday night or Tuesday during the day.

Hey Aiiwolf, what part of Texas are you in? If you don't want that public, I understand, but I'm in Texas, too. I thought I had said that, but then again, my mind fails me on occasion. If you could send me a message or something (I think you can get me via the "Contact Me" button on this page, but I'm still pretty new as a member here), maybe it's feasible for us to work on a project together.

I've been coming to this site for a LONG time, wish I had taken the time to become a member before... :/

SGA, sure thing. Glad to oblige you all in any way possible. :)

Doesn't look gay enough to be Hal Jordan.

Hey all,

Things went well at this evening's performance. I will later be uploading a video with a monologue of me as Forrest Gump, and a scene where I play The Joker (interrogation scene from TDK). My wig fell off, by the way, so be forewarned. The guy playing Batman wasn't kidding around when he went to hit my head.
