The featurette, titled To Hell and Back, takes us on a retrospective journey to bring Big Red to life on the big screen. Our clip focuses on del Toro discussing what and why he made specific changes from the comic book for his big-screen adaptation.

Check out the clip below, and pick up your copy of Hellboy 4K when it hits shelves tomorrow, October 15, 2019.

From visionary writer/director Guillermo del Toro (director of Blade II, The Devil's Backbone) comes Hellboy, a supernatural action adventure based on Mike Mignola's popular Dark Horse Comics series of the same name. Born in the flames of hell and brought to Earth as an infant to perpetrate evil, Hellboy (Ron Perlman) was rescued from sinister forces by the benevolent Dr. Broom (John Hurt), who raised him to be a hero. In Dr. Broom's secret Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, Hellboy creates an unlikely family consisting of the telepathic "Mer-Man" Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), the woman he loves who can control fire. Hidden from the very society that theyprotect, they stand as the key line of defense against an evil madman who seeks to reclaim Hellboy to the dark side and use his powers to destroy mankind. UHD release: As dark forces gather to hasten the Apocalypse, Hellboy (Ron Perlman) fights fire with fire in this mind-blasting supernatural action adventure!

What could have been, what a shame that del Toro was never allowed to finish his trilogy. The first movie is fine, but the second movie is so good and creative.

Oh I thought this was about the new better version of Hellboy that is also a true cinematic masterpiece featuring an Oscar worthy performance by Milla Jovovich. The Del Toro movies were so boring especially the second which was laughably bad. So overrated.

I recently rewatched the del Toro films to forget about the new one. I love the first one but the second one gets a little too corny for my taste. Still a great film though.

I might be in a minority here but of the GDT films I way preferred HB1 to HB2. I mean, if we're talking villains, Nazi Ninja Gimp Assassins beat the bloke out of Bros any time! HB2 was nice for world-building though so I was really looking forward to a third - I imagined that Liz and HB would have a little baby HellGirl.

The David Harbour version had a couple of decent elements but was, well, weird - the action was disjointed, some of the gore just seemed pointless, as was a lot of the swearing - don't get me wrong, I love a good swear, but particularly in the case of the Professor it just seemed really incongruous, like once they knew they were going R-rated they got a bit carried away! Harbour was kinda like-able, but no Perlman - if they'd needed to cast HB's son (they age different, remember...) he'd have been perfect.

If there had been no GDT films I'd probably have given it a "meh", but as it is it gets an "eh?".
