The fifth installment in the Scream franchise (imaginatively titled, "Scream") is set to slice its way into theaters this Friday, and Paramount Pictures has now release a final trailer in an attempt to ensure high attendance from horror fans on opening night.

This teaser features quite a bit of new footage, as Woodsboro survivors Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) return to face-off against the latest incarnation of Ghostface, who has lined up plenty of potential victims played by Dylan Minnette, Sonia Ben Ammar, Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, and Marley Shelton.

Will one of them turn out to be the killer? It's possible, but as the tagline reminds us, "it's always someone you know."

The promo also spotlights the high praise that's been heaped on the movie by critics. Full reviews are still embargoed for now, but be sure to check back tomorrow afternoon for our reaction.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

Paramount Pictures teamed with Spyglass Media to co-produce and distribute Scream, which has Ready or Not duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett on board to direct. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-wrote the screenplay. Producers for the film are Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak, with Kevin Williamson executive producing.

Scream is set for release January 14.

I liked the first 2 Scream movies, the third got weird.
Let’s hope the killer isn’t another family member. Sydney’s just got to change her name, move to the Bahamas and never look back.

@slickrickdesigns - It always goes back to Sidney's whore of a mom lol.

Like, how many people did this lady piss off when she was alive?

At least Scream 4 had it be a family member that really just wanted to be famous like Sidney. She didn't really care about anything Sidney's mom did. It just happened that Sidney was only famous because of all that drama.

@CorndogBurglar - Sydney’s mom must’ve been the village bicycle.

I’m glad I cared about the scream movies when I did, otherwise I would not understand scary movie. Aside from that I don’t care about them. Not anymore. I’m not saying they’re not good, I just don’t care
