Last week, MTV finally gave as a decent look at the new Ghostface mask. Now the network has decided to drop a revealing new trailer for the Scream reboot just ahead of its premiere, which will air a mere three weeks from now. This new trailer shows off the murderous Ghostface as he haunts the locals of a town called Lakewood. In keeping with the times, the trailer also shows off a great deal of modern cell phones and hints of social media, because lets face it: in a world with twenty first century technology, Ghostface will be a potentially much bigger threat than he ever was in the 1990s. Scream is perhaps one of the few horror franchises in which the characters don't want to have a cell phone on hand.

You can view this brand new trailer simply by clicking the still image below:

SYNOPSIS

After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens — with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart — become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of an assassin who’s out for blood.

The pilot airs 30 June on MTV.

The Scream movies make up my favourite horror franchise of all-time. Wes Craven is a goddamned mastermind.

This show is an abomination. How can you properly do a show based on Scream on MTV? And without ANY input from Kevin Williamson? It makes no sense.

Plus, yeah, the mask is awful. The sad part is, Fun World wouldn't allow them to use the Ghostface mask. Even they knew this show is gonna be shit.

Hell, they've had 2 actors leave the show already, and they're not even finished filming the first season!

To all the nay sayers out there who pretend they're not gonna watch this series STOP LYING. We all know you will I am honest to admit that I will watch and no doubt enjoy this unless the acting is really that bad, which is doesn't look to be so. I really enjoy Scream and hope they take this to the max and live up to it.

I will add a prediction that we will get the true mask about half way through the series I just hope they dont do the whole mask on fire melts into the famous ghostface mask.

I'm going to watch this because I really enjoyed all the Scream movies. Honestly, it's summer anyway and there really isn't anything else on and I do really like Bex Taylor Klaus from Arrow. I honestly feel that this show might actually take place after the Scream movies in the same universe, Kevin Williamson is involved with the show.
