Emily Blunt Tapped for Black Widow in Iron Man 2!

Breaking news that the bitchy red-head from "The Devil Wears Prada" may be Iron Man's Femme Fatale. What will Miranda say when she shows up in skin tight black leather?!!

British actress Emily Blunt is being named to portray Russian super-spy Natasha Romanova in Iron Man II. It's pretty obvious this also means they want her in the Avengers movie.

At this point, it looks like they're definately trying to model the Avengers movie off of The Ultimates. It's formed by SHIELD, under the leadership of the Ultimate (AKA Sam Jackson) version of Nick Fury, which unfreezes Captain Amerca at the beginning, the Avengers are going after The Hulk as their first mission, and to top it all off, it looks like Natasha will be posing in a position right under Tony's nose, before revealing herself as a government agent.

Here's hoping she's got what it takes!

Marvelous! This woman looks absolutely beautiful. I can feel the sexuality she needs for Widow. Great job. And I'm sure SLJ will be Fury.

Theres 2 posts up about this already and its yet to make the front page!!

Anyway i think shes sexy in a hoyty toyty posh tottie kind of way, but i dont know if shes hot enough for Black Widow. Course what really matters is if she can deliver a good performance, which im sure she would

Well that's empty casting. They feel that just anyone can play this role provided they have the look and can land a semi accurate accent. I feel that if your gonna pick an "unkown" type deal that has some experience, you should at least pick someone capable of such an action based role. I would personnaly nominate Sienna Guillory for the role as a less paid unknown.

"That bitchy redhead from the Devil Wears Prada"
...Did you really think that would mean anything to us? lol

What is this? was she any good in that Devil/Prada flick? I am more and more impressed with the Brits as Actors so i have some hope. GawlDarn this is gonna be a tough one though, i have such high hopes that this Character really delivers that deep rooted sensuality I've come to expect from the Widow. I even hope that her body isn't exposed just to convince viewers she is "Sexy". Wow i cant believe i just typed that!

I got Devil Wears Prada. Girlfriends have choices in DVD selection too folks. But I don't mind cause Anne Hathaway is smokin and its not a bad movie as for this girls role, it was a small supporting role and she did her part. Besides, every unknown needs a role that defines them. Maybe she will embody the Widow completely. Myabe she will bomb it. Point is it's not a bad pick and I think this movie will rock. I mean, Rourke and Rockwell are already going to kick so much ass. I'm psyched and everything but this Nick Fury Recast scare thats going down, but I'm sure that won't happen. This movie will rock!

very good choice she would fit in just right.
she has that look that would blend in just perfect.

Yeah, "blend in" being of course the contrary to "standing out" as an individual. She'll just end up being forgetable. I don't know what's getting me all pissy about this one, it just doesn't feel right when compared to the all-star cast already on board. Oh well, i just hope she proves me wrong :)

Hey Shaman keep'em where i can see'em. Its not my hotness that is being debated here (although thanks fer noticin). Hahaha i am all giddy as a school girl now.Anyhoo, phew back to Ms. London Bridges up there, i think she can pull sultry as well as Homely and unnoticeable. A quality i like in a spy.

My thoughts on the selection - "...meh.". Shaman - could have been worse... they could have gone 'Disney' on us. Could you imagine 'Hanna Montana' or one of the 'High School Musical' pukes in the role? Or how about one of the vacuous cast of 'The Hills' or such (talk about selling out)!

Shibazz- ...busted :P

Loganoneil- Good point, they totally could have done worse. Like i said, i just hope she proves me wrong.

iNsaneMilesy- I don't know who said that but the screen writer cleary said he was going "Ultimates" with his story direction. The only thing that sucks balls is that they're not following that idea with Thor. Stupid Donald Blake!

As for Nick Fury, if Jackson won't take up the role because Marvel is offering to low of a price, then there are a lot of talented actors that can pull it off. Lawrence Fishburn ring any bells? I'm sick of this "i cost too much" shit most actors are going for today. I'll kick them all in the nnnnutts! RESTPECT MY GODDAMN AUTHORITAAAAAH!!! Starting with Ben Affleck, come'ere sell out!

I saw The Devil Wears Prada with my wife - this chick was excellent. Very convincing little bitch . . . . actually, she probably should've received an Oscar for her turn. She pretty much stole every scene she was in. Anyway, I'm not 100% sure that a super-hero flick is exactly her pitch, but this will be an excellent marketing tool to get more females to see the movie (I don't think I need to stress the fact that females don't really fall into the right demographic for this type of flick). I know that once I tell my wife that this girl is in the upcoming Iron Man/Avengers/whatever other spin-off movie, my wife will want to see these movies more than she might have before hand.

It takes alot of balls to admit that some of you have seen the devils wears prada in here kudos to you my friends lol. I was lucky my wife let me read posts here on my laptop while she watched. This is a tough one to cast I think its a good pick

MrYetti - 1/28/2009, 12:12 AM
Thanks, scarface. I was worried about the repercussions for admitting that. Glad to know that there are other comic geeks out there who's wives drag them to watch these movies. At least my wife will watch the comic flicks with me. . . . sometimes.
