According to Deadline, Housebound helmer Gerard Johnstone has been hired to polish the script for Warner Bros.' Justice League Dark movie as the search for a new director continues.

Last week, we reported on a rumor that Johnstone was actually in line to helm the picture with Life director Daniel Espinosa also in the running, but although Johnstone is said to have impressed the studio with his presentation, it seems he won't be stepping behind the camera.

Deadline also confirms that Andy Muschietti was very close to nabbing the gig, but when IT began tracking so well he dropped everything to work on the inevitable sequel.

Perhaps Espinosa will wind up in the Justice League Dark director's chair? Keep an eye on CBM for updates.

Got a chance to see Housebound and I loved it, I would love for him to get the directing gig, or him writing for Espinosa is perfect!!!! Love that It is getting a sequel, and happy that Muschietti moved on to an it sequel rather than that sony project that will definitely ruin another anime

@Lobo89 - I wanted him to direct Flash's solo film. He needs to do SOMETHING for this CBM genre, especially getting the boot from when working on Ant-Man.
