Jane Goldman Confirms She Will Not Write KICK-ASS 2

Last time Jane Goldman talked about Kick-Ass 2 she said only said there was a chance that she wouldn't write and that Matthew Vaughn wouldn't direct. During the premier for The Woman In Black she has officially said that neither will return.

HeyUGuys caught up with Jane Goldman at the premiere of her latest writing gig The Woman In Black where she talked about numerous topics including her love for adapting screenplays. She also talked about Kick-Ass 2 which last time she talked about the film she said that it was unlikely that she or Matthew Vaughn returned as writer and director respectively. Goldman has now confirmed that she and Vaughn will NOT be involved with the film as its writer or director. Skip to the 1:26 mark for the her portion of the video.

"Matthew is not directing it so it looks like someone else will write and direct which will be exciting. And I love Mark's second volume of the comic, and it will be great."

Goldman did not rule out the possibility of Vaughn over seeing the project in some sort of producing role, but with the film not even announced yet we will just have to wait and see. Sound off your thoughts on who you think should direct Kick-Ass' next adventure in the comment boxes below.

FUHHHHK!

This sucks. I pretty much think the movie is DOA unless they get an amazing director ASAP and begin pre production in the next couple months. Chloe is getting older by the minute and I worry they won't be able to lock in the whole cast.

I'd say it's 50/50 really. Through past articles i've counted as many people that didn't want Kick Ass 2 to happen as there were that did. Half of those guys, which i'm a part of, even think a sequel would take away from the originality that the first film had. I even think that originality was the only thing going for it in the first place, aside from Mark Strong of course.
