A lot of time has passed since the first trailer for Universal Pictures' hotly awaited The Mummy was released in early December, but now, with another Universal production, The Fate of the Furious, just around the corner, it looks like we may be on the verge of receiving a new theatrical trailer within the next month or so, which should give us an even better look at the first chapter in the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe.

Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible 6) headlines the feature with a supporting cast that includes Sofia Boutella (Atomic Blonde), Annabelle Wallis (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Jake Johnson (Win It All), Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson), and Russell Crowe (The Nice Guys).

To get fans even more excited, Universal has released an awesome behind-the-scenes featurette, which takes a look at the Zero G plane crash stunt and confirms that both Cruise & Wallis performed the wild stunt themselves. Check out the new featurette below:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy features:
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Tom Cruise as Nick Morton
Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet/The Mummy
Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey
Jake Johnson as Sgt. Vail
Courtney B. Vance as Colonel Gideon Forster
Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde
Javier Botet as Set
Selva Rasalingam as King Menehptre
Dylan Smith as Lorenzo Montanari
Rez Kempton as Foreman
Marwan Kenzari in an undisclosed role
Chasty Ballesteros as Kira Lee

@Kevwebsz - I got the trailer in front of Kong on Sunday, and everybody in the audience was laughing at that part.

I'm really tired of them overhyping mediocre movies lately just cause Tom Cruise is doing crazy shit in them.

@BillCipher999 - it is exciting. I loved the old black and white monster verse. My grandpa showed them all to me when I was a kid and they hold a special nostalgic place in my heart.

Tom Cruise is the last living legend. He eats the *** of the millenial generation that attempts to be men and women and instead retreats to Netflix, Texting and nonsense.

It's okay if your feel worried when you watch cruise... Your generation isnt built for being a man anyway.

Looking forward to this. Universal did the first shared universe (many decades ago) and Tom Cruise knows how to pick exciting stories/scripts for his action flicks. and it will be great to see Russell as Doctor Jeckyl and Sofia as the mummy.

A shared cinematic universe of universal monsters should be the most exciting thing to me, but I hate how safe and stale it seems so far. They've gone action blockbuster rather than nutting up and going horror blockbuster. It can be done well and still be a tentpole, look at Coppola's Dracula. Then they've gone with Tom Cruise, about the safest, most boring choice they could've done.

Something like Penny Dreadful without the bad poetry, homoeroticism and corny romance. That show had a great Frankenstein's Monster from what i saw before giving up.
