Alphadog's top 5 DC/ Marvel properties that deserve a TV show

With the premiere of Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just days away and the return of Arrow very close i decided to make up my own list of superhero tv shows i think should be made next.

Around 1952 the first live action superhero TV series premiered with the “Adventures of Superman” which lasted 6 seasons. Since then we have had multiple long running TV shows like Batman (1960s), Wonder Woman (1970s), Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Smallville (2000s). Currently comic book fans have the pleasure of enjoying Arrow and in just a few days Marvel: Agents of SHIELD. With a flash TV series in the works and booster gold show planned it doesn’t look like live action superheroes are going away from the small screen for a long time but still we have to wonder what else we are going to get. In this article I list the best concepts for TV shows that I have found.

While making this list there were three rules I followed:

1) Every show should belong to a different genre from a previous series.
2) Each series should show a new side of the superhero community like Smallville showed how a person grows up with powers and arrow shows how a normal guy becomes a vigilante.
3) Projects that have already had a pilot shot like Aquaman and Wonder Woman can’t be considered, nor can shows that are currently in development like Flash, Booster Gold and Amazon.

Finally here is the list starting with the best.

1 The Question – a crime drama about an ex-cop who’s trying to clean the Hubcity and wears a mask without any features to hide is identity. Every episode he would solve a new mystery that could go from murders to robberies.
Out of all the ideas this is my favorite because not only is it quite different but it is also the cheapest I’ve seen which means the writers would have to work twice as hard than they would in other shows.

2 Constantine – a supernatural drama in the style of Supernatural about a con man that hunts spirits and magicians that have used their powers in public and sends them to another dimension, all in other to save his soul. Throughout the series many characters like Zatanna, Deadman and Swamp thing would appear.
It’s not really a superhero TV show but it has a bunch superpowers and the main character is currently featured in a superhero team so guess it can slide.

3 Suicide Squad – a drama about a government task force compromised of super criminals that go on highly dangerous missions and in return loose on month of their sentence.
This one kind of breaks the rules because it’s actually been in development but it didn’t go very far.

4 Heroes for Hire – an action-adventure show in the style of the A-team about an agency of super powered body guards/ mercenaries. The main characters of the first season would be Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Misty Knight.
A movie about them would be pretty cool but getting the chance to tune in every week and see them in action would be way better. Do to the characters powers the budget wouldn’t actually be that high.

5 Runaways – A coming of age comedy drama about group of teenagers that run away from home after finding out that their parents are super criminals and that they have powers. This series could be easily be replaced with generation x or even the teen titans but this is the most likely scenario in my opinion.
This concept is one the ones that I like the most because the series was pretty good and the relationships that could be formed would be some of the best in TV history.

Honorable mentions

Grayson – a series about an orphan that becomes the apprentice of a superhero. It can also be replaced with pretty much any sidekick and in retrospect it should because batman would be way too expensive. I was against the concept at first but after thinking about profoundly I realized that could be awesome seeing how a sidekick gets made. The only reason why it isn’t in the list is because I have a feeling that we’re going to see this in Arrow with Roy Harper.

Daredevil – a legal-drama about a lawyer that goes out at night to find evidence through extreme methods and if necessary kill the guilty criminal that walks away from the court. This could also be a She-hulk TV show that would be more of a comedy about her protecting vigilantes, or even kipping with the theme a Manhunter TV show with Kate Spencer as the protagonist showing a bit more support for female superheroes. The reason why it didn’t enter the list was because it could go very closely to Arrow and The Question territory.

Rogues – A crime-comedy about thieves with advanced weaponry that decide to form a team and start performing high robberies. This series didn’t enter the list because the group might appear in the new flash TV show in development.

Jonah hex – a TV western about a bounty hunter with a scar on his face. This show would probably go on AMC alongside Walking Dead. Even though it is probably the show that would call more attention I didn’t put it on the list because it’s not really a superhero show.

And here it is this has been Alphadog’s list of best superhero show ideas, but what superhero do you thinks deserves his own show? Let me know bellow and don't forget to hit the thumbs up button if liked this article, till next time true believers.

The grayson series would eventually be a nightwing tv show, and the punisher is not nearly as original as the others. At least that's my opinion.

The question for DC and Heroes For Hire for Marvel. The Question screams TV show and Heroes For Hire would be way better than a generic agents show that Agents of Shield is destined to be.

Moon Knight tv series is what I would like to see. I know it will never happen but a guy can dream.

I think a Suicide Squad show would be cool, but the title alone would be a tough sell to the general public and to studios.

What's the difference between Rorschach and the question? I really don't know.. They just seem similar for obvious reasons

Rorschach is basically a street level killer for justice and The Question is basically a conspiracy theorist who is one of the best detectives in DC.
