Before anyone says this isn't comic related, this is CBM.com related so there.
I've been noticing a lot of complaining about the Flash videos that play automatically whenever any CBM page is open, and I agree, it's incredibly annoying. If I want you to play I'll click play, but at least the banners that expand and take over the entire page don't show up anymore...But I digress. I know the cure for these obnoxious videos.
First you must download and install Firefox, you may click on the source website provided called Mozilla. No worries this works for Macs and PCs alike and you can still use your trusty Safari and Explorer if you hate change.
Second, in the same website you will find an add-on for Firefox called Adblock Plus (just search for it in the Mozilla search bar and click the first thing on the list.) This program will allow you to block banners, advertisements and Flash. If it's blockable you put your little cursor over the image and a "Block" tab will appear you may click that and it will immediately disappear.
However! Flash is tricky, it does not allow such tabs appear for easy to find this you have to do a little work. Up in the right corner of your Firefox window should be a stop sign with "ABP" on it. If it's not there, go to "Tools" click "Add-Ons" click "Options" on the ABP section and click again in the "Options" tab in said section and click "Show in Toolbar" and click "Show tabs on Flash and Java." Then you can block those videos and all will be well with the world! You can also open blockable items on whatever specific page you're on and manually go through and click the ones you want blocked, even member's avatars.
