Happy birthday Stan Lee! For those out there that do not know who Stan Lee is... Wikipedia it, and then walk into traffic!

Stan Lee was born December 28th, 1922 in New York City. Stan's first published work was Captain America Comics #3. He served in the Army shortly after, and then began his career as Editor of Marvel Comics. Along with artist Jack Kirby, Stan Lee penned many favorites of today including Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Mighty Thor, Iron Man, and X-Men. He would later team up with artist Steve Ditko to create the mega-huge succesful Spider-Man. Lee became known as the first writer to bring the multi-emotional, more human characters to comics. He created characters that would whine, get angry, cry, laugh, and deal with High School troubles like the rest of us did. He was the first to make his characters touchable, and more relatable.

All in all, for an 86 year old man, he still seems like he can kick my ass... It's hard to beleive that a man at this age is still hitting punching bags, and generating such large sums of money, I throw up in my mouth just thinking about it. Congratulations Stan Lee as we celebrate your good life and properity, and we thank you for advancing comics to worlds we never thought possible.

Now... I'm sure you're already preparing a freeze chamber right next to Walt Disney? Hopefully... -saintc

Yeah, yeah, yeah... Mr. "I INVENTED comic books' grows one year closer to eternity - BIG F#@$-ING DEAL! So he 'created' a bunch of iconic characters - over FIFTY years ago, and with a LOT of help from other people (can you say 'KIRBY', Stan?) He's stuck in the past and can't seem to bring himself into the modern day (have you had an ORIGINAL idea since, Stan?). Quit sponging off of your past exploits and just fade into the sunset! Excelcior this!

Okay dude, first off, that was totally uncalled for, what the phoque did Stan ever do to you? And if you don't like what he does, then don't post on his birthday thread you ingrate sack of shit! And what exactly have you done with your "life" (or waste of breath) that would have masses cheering for your 86th birthday when the time comes logan? Do tell.

loganoniel, you are definately a giant bag of duche. I mean seriously what the hell's up your ass? Stan Lee is the freakin man, I'm fairly confident that 50 years from now people will still be reading his work. And realistically I agree with Shaman. What have you done with you life that is so great to where you can pick on an 86 year old man?

Hey Shaman & Schooperman87 do you believe EVEYTHING you're told like the good little fanboy zombies you were raised to be? Just because 'The Man' came on every Saturday morning after an episode of 'Spiderman' to tell you what a wonderful person he was (followed by his signature moronic saying "EXCELSIOR!!!") doesn't make it so! I used to know a bunch of people who worked with 'The Man' who thought he was a talentless, egotistical opportunist. The only reason he's 'The Man' is because there's either no one left alive or the people that are have too much class (or are legally bound not) to contest 'Mr. Wonderful's' version of how these iconic characters were created (and exactly WHO created them!), thus we only have Excelsior-boy's word on it! Now before you start, I can understand if just one person complained, then it would just be sour grapes. But when handfuls of people have said (in private) what a totally arrogant prick this man was (and still IS), I'll believe the group vs 'The Man'!
Shaman
Shaman - 12/30/2008, 9:14 AM
Get MY story straight? Oh because you knew the man personally to confirm the alogations right? What, you mean to tell me that because "handfulls" of people said "behind Stan's back" that he's an arrogant prick, you'll believe that. Do you work for "The Sun" or something? you sound just like Gordon Smart. "My source is reliable" horseshit. Well now you have "handfulls" of people calling you an asshole behind your back, so you better believe it then.

loganoneil - 12/30/2008, 9:21 AM
Shaman - may I remind you this is a PUBLIC forum, when ANYONE can state their OPINION (WHICH I DID). I do not particualarly care for Mr. Lee and I gave my reasons. You disagreed with my OPINION (and are entitle to do so - this being a PUBLIC FORUM). We will obviously never agree on the matter, so let's agree to LET IT GO!

Thanks for putting this one up Saintc. This guy's birthday should be a nerd-national holiday. He's the one that made the comics industry For The Fans. He's a great example for all the writers and artsts of today to follow; Doing it because you love it, because you love the fans, and you love the stories. The fact that this guy is 86 and still shows up at every large con to meet, greet and sign with generation after generation of doting geek (myself included) is proof enough that he really is THE MAN. PS: realfirstavenger, if you hear anything about that organ drop, let me know.

I respect your opinion loganeil, but I think what Shaman was trying to say was this wasn't a forum meant to bash Stan Lee, and it does look outta left field when all these people that look up to the man are praising him, and you come in and bash em. This is a forum to celebrate his b day, if you don't like em, opinion not necessary, now if someone post an editorial bashing Stan Lee, then take your opinion there, or how bout u make an editorial? Contreversyequals site traffic!!! Lol! But yeah Coats, I seen it was his B Day and I was like man, comic book movie needs to celebrate this. Even if he is "supposedly" evil, I have nothing but respect for the man... Period. From what I know, all I can do is respect.
