With the news of Michael Clarke Duncan's death comes the death of a few dreams as well.

"Michael Clarke Duncan, nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the 1999 film "The Green Mile," died Monday morning at age 54, according to a representative for his family. Duncan "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered," a written statement from Joy Fehily said. Clarke died at a Los Angeles hospital where he had been since having the heart attack more than seven weeks ago." - CNN

With that news there has been a great sadness fall over Hollywood. More specifically, a sadness has fallen over the CBM community.

I wanted to take a few quick moments to look at what could have been other great roles that we will all be denied due to his untimely death.

First, let's look at some return roles that we will all miss out on.

1) Although the Green Lantern movie was a flop MCD's role as the voice of Kilowog was UNDENIABLE! Whether you think the series should be "rebooted" or carrying on with the series... one thing is for sure: Michael Clarke Duncan will always be Kilowog in the hearts of the fans.

2)In one of the most anticipated and long awaited sequels we will all be looking into the golden eye of another actor if Sin City: a Dame to Kill For follows the story line of the comic. Manute played a rather big role in that story line in the Graphic Novel... who could possibly fill MCD's shoes?

Aside from missing this mountain of a man in his possible return roles... I've spent some time thinking about all the roles that could have been.

I've included my top three in the close of this article.

(1)While this particular character would need some heavy CG to be pulled off correctly, MCD still seems like the right guy for the job: KILLER CROC.
He's BIG, he can be menacing (See his role as Kingpin), and come on! His voice alone should have landed him this role!

(2)As a huge Punisher fan I (along with all the other Punisher fans) have been waiting for a film that pit Frank Castle against a villain that could go toe to toe with him. If you read any of the "Punisher MAX" series then you know where I'm going with this: BARRACUDA

His goofy smile grounded in his massive size and all around "Badassery" makes MCD the perfect Barracuda... Unfortunately the world will never get to see him in this perfect role.

(3)The ancient mutant that travels around the world to determine if his time of testing had come. He appears throughout history, encouraging civilizations to worship him as a god... and a HUGE threat to our favorite team of mutants, the X-men: APOCALYPSE

Who else has the presence of MCD and who could possibly fill Apocalypse's evil shoes?

How many more roles will we all stop and think; "if only Michael Clarke Duncan was still around?!"

Well, MCD, you will be missed. Rest in Peace.

Until next time, Woodinator

The world has lost not only a great actor, but a great human being. WHY must he be taken from this earth at such a young age?

RIP MCD, our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
