This Week in DC Movie News

Here is a rundown of news from the DC Movies! page on Facebook during the week, March 31 to April 6th!

Sam Mendes, director of Skyfall

I loved this editorial piece from Shaggy on ComicBookMovie, 10 Directors Who Should Be Attached to Comic Book Movies. Not only did he choose fantastic directors, but he linked them up with some really inspiring comic book characters! I'd like to see more of this stuff if he's up for it.

Darren Aronofsky, director of Noah

Darren Aronofsy told MTV's Josh Horowitz on his podcast, Happy Sad Confused that he would have loved to had directed Man of Steel, calling Superman "one of the holy grails" and "the best superhero". He mentioned he met with Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. to talk about the project that eventually went to Zack Snyder.

Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway

Some of you may not know that former Selina Kyle, Anne Hathaway and future Lex Luthor, Jesse Eisenberg once played siblings in a family dramedy on FOX back in 1999 called "Get Real". Now that she's dipped her toes into the comic book movie world, Total Film asked her if she had any advice for The Social Network star.

Click here to see what she had to say!

Super Cut Videos

Super Cut Videos made a five and a half minute long montage video of movie heroes "gearing up" for action, which prominantly featured the likes of Batman, Superman and many other heroes of cinema and comic books. Check out the video here!

Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot tells E! she plays sports and drinks lots of water to stay in such great shape, which makes sense since she was the Sports Trainer for the Israel Defense Forces where she served for two years. She says eating cheeseburgers are good for the soul, but for the most part, the 5'10" beauty tries to eat healthy and stay active.

Harley Quinn

I asked the Facebook page, "Who would you like to see play Harley Quinn in a live action film?"

These were the top 5 results:

1. Anna Faris
2. Emma Stone
3. Kristen Bell
4. Isla Fisher
5. Sherri Moon Zombie

Corey Michael Smith

Entertainment Weekly reported that Cory Michael Smith would be portraying Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler in FOX's Gotham television series. The article goes on to say that Nygma is a brilliant, young forensic scientist who works for the Gotham Police Deartment. My favorite part was when they mentioned he will be inquisitive, eccentric, outgoing and socially awkward. That's how I likes my Riddlers!

Adam West

With Batman's 75th anniversary in full swing, joinyouinthesun posted 75 behind-the-scenes photos from Batman movies. Most of them I hadn't seen, so it was very cool! Check out the full album here if you already haven't.

Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto

Three new actors are cast in mystery roles for Zack Snyder's untitled Man of Steel sequel.

Read the official press release from Warner Bros. here!

Green Arrow and Green Lantern

I asked the DC Movies! page, "What would be the one DC crossover you'd love to see on film, aside from Superman and Batman?"

There were the top 5 results:

1. Green Arrow / Green Lantern
2. Green Lantern / The Flash
3. Green Arrow / Batman
4. Booster Gold / Blue Beetle
5. Superman / Martian Manhunter

So Superman/Manhunter? Who can stand up to that? I would pick Booster/Beetle or Arrow/Batman.

@Poolio, Aronofsky was never hired to direct Man of Steel. Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. were just look at him as a candidate.

Although it wasn't the official statement, I'm pretty sure he dropped out of The Wolverine was because he wanted everyone to speak Japaanese. It seemed like he might have been feeling creatively restricted there.

I joke I joke :D Any idea on who Callan Mulvey is playing?

It could be a fake out like Henry Ducard or Miranda Tate, in The Dark Knight trilogy, but the seems like it was more Christopher Nolan's thing. Then again, they could be anything from The Daily Planet reporters to LexCorp scientists.

He's playing Metallo

A Green Arrow film would be amazing.

Also i think the actor Callan is playing one of Superman's villains. It would be interesting to see Metallo go up against Superman but in my opinion i prefer the villain Parasite to go against the Man of Steel.

Sam Mendez to direct a Wonder Woman movie would be superb.
