In Hellboy (2004) the villain Rasputin with the help of Nazi scientists wields an impressive weapon to open a gate to unleash the ogdru jahad. In the movie as the portal he opens becomes unstable the hero Hellboy is able to sneak through into our world and is saved by American forces.

Adam Savage, host of Mythbusters and former ILM model maker, has an obsession with prop replicas. He has replicated everything from Rick Deckards gun from Blade Runner to Indian Jones whip. Over the last five years he has been working to replicate Rasputin's "Mecha-Glove," as it is called by fans, and recently completed the project.

According to Savage, the prop has more than 1,000 individual parts and involved machining, glass blowing, leather work and 3D printings all to build the perfect replica! It has working lights and moving parts just like the original prop from the movie!

Check out his entire build process in the videos below!

Co-host on these video is Will Smith who has been covering consumer electronics and the Internet for the past ten years, the last two of which were spent building Tested as a place for users to learn about technology and share their passions.
