Full Disclosure: I'm a Marvel fan.

I have been a comic book fan for about 30 years, and as a kid I always wanted my favorite heros come to life on the big screen. Sadly, Marvel had a hard time making good movie for a long time (Nick Fury, Agent of Sheild TV movie, 1st Punisher movie, and 90's Captain America come to mind), until Blade set all things right with the world.

If I wanted my comic book movie fix, I was stuck with the only game in town, WB/DC, I saw Superman 1-4 (they should have stopped after two for sure) and I saw all the original Batman movies as well. They should have stopped after the second Batman movie as well. Once, the last of original Batman movies came out WB/DC seemed to lose its comic book miovie mojo, they have to major bombs in with Catwoman and Superman Returns, I am sure most Warner Brothers prayed hard for a win Batman Begins (I am not sure how) which they got. They then scored a second win The Dark Knight (worse that the first movie), and it looked like they got their mojo back. Someone for to tell that to the executives that green lit The Green Lantern.

Warner Brothers/DC isn't just a mess on the movie side, they comics division is a big money loser for them as well. Things are bad and going to worsen with the pending loss of the Trinity sometime this decade. H

Here is a suggestion: Warner Brothers needs to seriously needs to consider dumping DC or having it file for bankruptcy like Marvel did in the '90's. Of course if the new reboot/crisis/whatever the hell it is their doing fails, they may not have a choice.

I see that some DC fans are planning on protesting the reboot, how sad that Warner Brothers/DC have fallen so far.

I'm not sure were you're getting your figures, but DC Comics isn't a big money loser. At least not more than any other publisher.Yes, they have come in second place to Marvel for about 8 years, but it's a close second.

By this logic, Image, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Boom and any other publisher are big money losers, as they are below DC Comics.

If you look at the top 10 bestselling comics of 2010, you'll find 5 are Marvel and 5 are DC.

1. Avengers #1
2. X-Men #1
3. Blackest Night #8
4. Siege #1
5. Blackest Night #7
6. New Avengers #1
7. Brightest Day #0
8. Brightest Day #1
9. Siege #2
10. Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #1

If you look at the Top 20, 9 are Marvel and 11 are DC.Again, while they aren't #1, they're still doing fine.

Some fans are planning to protest the reboot, but that's just some fans.People who takes things too seriously instead of just enjoying the new comics or just not reading them. What does that have to do with them losing money? How does that mean they've fallen anywhere?People may protest, but at the end of the day, they're still going to buy the books. If they're this invested in DC Comics that they'd go so far to protest, then they are not just going to give up DC cold turkey. And as these are the only titles coming out from DC, they will either have to get on board or not read DC Comics.

As for WB dumping them, I agree with that. Not because their movies are losing money, but because WB is actually hindering DC.Unlike Marvel, who had full control of their films over the last few years and even with Disney as a new parent, are still able to make the films how they want to make them, WB has complete control of the DC films. The people who work at DC have almost no say into what goes into those films.

Sure, Geoff Johns is the Chief Creative Officer and his job entails he work close with WB on their film and TV projects. But that doesn't give him or DC any control over the films. It just means that he consults with WB on what characters to use and what projects to develop. He doesn't have any real say as to what actually goes into the films. The WB executives do, though.

That's why we got a Wonder Woman show that didn't get past the pilot stage or a lackluster Green Lantern film.

While I'm a Marvelite too I don't totally agree with you. Yup WB+DC movie decisions have been generally sucky these days (with an exception to Nolan's Batman) but look at the animated movie content DC puts out! WOW enough to put Marvel to shame on that front...

Oh & ya, the editors are gonna be putting this in the editorials section anytime now, so I think it best if you put this in there yourself & save em some trouble :P

if companies like warner bros did that, after one commercial failure, then fox would have dropped x men, sony dropped spiderman and ghost rider, disney rop pixar, warner bros drop DC, long ago, Fox, drop Aliens and Predator, and so on, it is horrible buisness, to cut off a huge source of cash inflow, due to mediocre numbers and the box office, Im sure people like you said the smae thing about Batman and Robin, and so if warner bros dropped DC then, they would lose comic and toys sales, along with the Dark Knight, one of the highest grossing films of all time

DC had started their own Movie Studio like Marvel did, and I'm sure scripts are read and reviewed whether their good enough and entertaining enough for the mass audience (Like Chris Claremount reviewing the upcoming Wolverine movie script) -- A GOOD START.

Still, how did DC drop the ball with Jonah Hex???? It's a western. Hollywood made millions of westerns. Sure enough that there's someone in Hollywood who knows how to make a good western, and have him/her make the Jonah Hex movie.

This article is stupid. First off, it isn't WB that needs to dump DC. It's DC that should dump WB. WB are the ones who keep screwing up the DC films.

Also, your grammar sucks, I'm sorry but when you're making an editorial, do try to check your grammar for any missing punctuation and/or spelling errors.

Again no offense. I actually appreciate that you're bringing more attention to the fact that WB sucks at making CBMs

I am a comic book fan...I have read Dark Horse, Image, and DC (Catwoman series, some of the Harley Quinn series, Fables, ,and the stray Flash, Batman, or Superman), but I grew up reading and prefer Marvel's charcaters and universe the best.
