You got The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, and even Ghost Rider : Spirit Of Vengeance. I don't think there's one person that doesn't give a damn about at least one of these films. Which proves things to be highly eventful for 2012, adding up to more anticipation. But even if you're excited for one of these films, there's always that one person who isn't.
They list their speculation, and assumption from prior movie knowledge upon the director's past movies. Just to backup their opinions and to conclude their judgement. The basic thing to do, yeah. But even if these filmmakers have a bad reputation (usually anyway), they're always offered that certain chance of a greatly potential movie with positive feedback. That's the thing about Hollywood nowadays, the unpredictability of where these movies will end up. Most of all, the directors.
Having said that, if the Ghost Rider sequel becomes the most successful CBM next year--- people are going to be blown away out of proportion. Not saying that it will, since there's a huge possibility it won't but that's my whole point. The benefit of a doubt can prove to be no more than a shocker in the end. No matter how much you may like the comic, the character, the actor, the director... the possibilities are endless.
So I want to know... if you're a Nolanite and TDKR doesn't live up to your usual Nolan expectations, would you come to terms with it? The same for Marvel Fanboys, who's had a hell of a tussle with Nolanites. Would you come to accept that even if The Avengers has such potential to overcome every other CBM and still lose to the wingless Batwing, would you call it troops? There's even those that think the Spider-Man reboot will top them all off. Think about the stuff I said, and comment how you'd react if your movie lost the battle.
