Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster, the critically acclaimed Edge of Tomorrow, which co-starred certified badass Emily Blunt, released exactly a year ago yesterday. The Doug Liman-directed picture initially got off to a slightly rocky start at the box office, but managed to pick itself up and perform fairly consisently throughout the course of the summer as it became one of last year's most welcome sleeper hits, finishing with a total gross of over $369M at the worldwide box office. The film went on to reach an even wider audience when it hit home video, debuting at #1, and managing to make a killing in sales raking in another $25-30M+.

A cool new featurette has surfaced giving us a behind-the-scenes look at some of the film's very impressive VFX, specifically the environmental builds. Check it out below:

Oscar nominee Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt star in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' sci-fi thriller "Edge of Tomorrow," under the direction of Doug Liman. The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.

Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Edge of Tomorrow features:
Director: Doug Liman
Tom Cruise as Lt. Col. William "Bill" Cage
Emily Blunt as Sergeant Rita Rose Vrataski
Bill Paxton as Master Sergeant Farrell
Brendan Gleeson as General Brigham
Kick Gurry as Griff
Dragomir Mrsic as Kuntz
Charlotte Riley as Nance
Jonas Armstrong as Skinner
Franz Drameh as Ford
Masayoshi Haneda as Takeda
Tony Way as Kimmel
Noah Taylor as Dr. Carter

Edge Of Tomorrow is out on Blu-ray/DVD NOW!
