Oscar nominee Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt star in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' sci-fi thriller "Edge of Tomorrow," under the direction of Doug Liman. The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.

Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Edge of Tomorrow features:
Director: Doug Liman
Tom Cruise as Lt. Col. William "Bill" Cage
Emily Blunt as Rita Vrataski
Bill Paxton as General Farrell Bartolome
Jeremy Piven as Col. Walter Marx
Lara Pulver as Karen Lord
Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Dr. Whittle
Jonas Armstrong as Skinner
Kick Gurry as Griff
Kidus Henok as Lewis
Tony Way as Kimmel
Madeleine Mantock as Julie
Dragomir Mrsic in an unspecified role
Charlotte Riley in an unspecified role
Franz Drameh in an unspecified role

I actually think this movie is going to be good. Doug Liman is a really good director, and Tom Cruise + Sci-fi usually = success.

Also Emily Blunt is a great actress IMO.

The fact that I'll be going into this movie completely clueless is a bonus for me.

the most "hauntingly beautiful" film ever was my Halloween themed sex film with flo from progressive.

not to spoil it (its disc 7 on the criterion collection) but it involves a lot of rob zombie music, black light and body paint.

you'll rethink a lot of things after you see it.

david lynch+ hugh heffner+ flo= art house erotica

4 out of 5

"Very enjoyable movie. A nice mix of visual spectacle, humor and high stakes action. Likeable characters, with nice chemistry amongst all the main cast. My only complaint would be that the 3D combined with the action caused me to have motion sickness. Visually and thematically at times I was reminded of: Aliens, Groundhogs Day, Starship Troopers, Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix."

Either way, that's a ridiculous amount of TV spots :D

As far as the "there's no threat because he can die as many times as he wants" that's addressed.

Can't wait to see this. Tom Cruise is actually pretty good in every movie he's in imo. I could name over 10 off the top of my head that are really good and I'm sure I own most of them. I don't really care if he's crazy or not, he's in some spectacular sci-fi movies.

I watched an extended preview and the movie really looks good. I think people aren't receptive to Tom Cruise anymore which is why it's not getting any love. If its a good movie shouldn't matter who's in it.

@jedi The trailers and extended trailers have laid it out pretty clearly, your info is not a spoiler. Its clear his power doesn't work if he falls a sleep and wakes up the next day he HAS to die. Also he clearly falls for her the question is IF he can save both the world and the girl...if you can answer that the THAT would be a spoiler.
