Variety reports that Warner Bros. is in discussions with Emily Blunt (
The Adjustment Bureau,
The Devil Wears Prada) for the female lead in
All You Need Is Kill, a science fiction thriller starring Tom Cruise. If negotiations go well, Blunt will play a fellow soldier who fights alongside Cruise in a war against aliens. The film, based on a Japanese graphic novel, will be directed by Doug Liman (
The Bourne Identity). Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs are producing through 3 Arts Entertainment. Dante Harper penned the script with executive producer Joby Harold, who is working on a rewrite.
