This is my first article...

According to a report from Joystiq, an unnamed source told the website a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, first released on the original Xbox in 2000, is being prepped for a Holiday 2011 release for Xbox 360.

The report states the game will include new art assets and updated controller configurations, but the audio will likely remain the same. It will also support 1080p resolution, 3D televisions, and online co-op.

Interestingly enough, the remake isn't being handled by 343 Industries, Microsoft's internal Halo development team. According to the report, Saber Interactive, the team behind TimeShift and the upcoming sci-fi shooter Inversion from Namco, has taken the reigns. 343 is keeping an eye on the project, however.

This rumored remake has a release date: November 15, 2011 - ten years after the original.

Why? Just give us Halo 4, instead of a pointless remake.

I recently got Halo on Xbox (I had a PS2 back in the day) and it plays just fine on my 360. I hope this is more of a commerative thing and not just a money making ploy.

On another note you scared me with the title a bit. I was like 'not a reboot!' lol this is more of a remastering than a reboot.

being the cashcow that the halo franchise is, microsoft will just keep making more. But a remake? I personally would like to move forward with the story instead of replaying again what i already know happens.

@Legomaster, I'm sure your a nice guy, but this article is Bullshit. A Holiday 2011 release, hell no. Even if they were working on this ever since Reach, it wouldn't be done by then.
