It's Morphin' Time! A Live-Action POWER RANGERS Reboot Has Been Announced

A big screen reboot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers has been announced. The property originally launched in 1993 as a tv series, but has since spawned one (terrible) big screen outing, as well as numerous comics,toys, apparel, costumes, video games, DVD’s, and plenty of other merchandise. Now Lionsgate are teaming with Haim Saban to re-envision the Power Rangers as "a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world." Wasn't that the original concept anyway? I'm a bit rusty! Lionsgate ad: “The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever.  We have the ideal partner and the perfect brand with which to create a motion picture event that will resonate with moviegoers around the world for years to come.” Read the press release in full at the link below.

I just don't know how to feel about this. I loved Power Rangers as a kid but I don't know if it can work in this day in age.

YES!!!
I lost interest in the Power Rangers as I grew up, but I freakin' loved it as a kid. This could make me care again for the franchise.

I'm done with that!!

A dark Power Rangers could work. Time Force and In Space were good examples.

Because as we all know, light and bright makes everything "better".

GTFO with that, please. Not every [frick]ing movie needs to "make you feel like a [frick]ing child again", like your so-so Disney movies.

I remember seeing the first one in the theater in like grade 6 and thinking it was awesome. I will torrent this and laugh at it's ridiculousness. I might even need to re-visit the original...

@richardbold
unconfident about their maturity? what would make you say something so dick-headed like that?

That's great, growing up I loved different incarnations of Super Sentai teams. Im really hoping this remains for kids, I don't need to see the grounded dark version of Power Rangers.
