A little over two decades after its initial theatrical debut, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie finally made its Blu-ray debut last year as part of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Complete Series - 25th Anniversary Steelbook Collection, but unfortunately, there was no word on a possible standalone Blu-ray release... until now that is.

Shout! Factory officially announced today that the fan-favorite Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie will finally arrive on Blu-ray, as a standalone release, on June 4.

The release will include an extended retrospective documentary, which includes fresh interviews with director Bryan Spicer and stars Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park/Black Ranger), Paul Freeman (Ivan Ooze), and more. There will also be an original featurette and the film's official theatrical trailer.

The film is currently available to pre-order for $15.99 on the Shout! Factory website.

sub-par CG effects aside, still the best method of disposing of the bad guy seen in a superhero movie (the power rangers count, don't @me), followed by annoying the extradimensional dark overlord into surrendering (Doc Strange).

I showed my nephew this on netflix and the movie doesn't hold up at all.

@LadiesmanBumble - not sure if you've ever watched the original japanese version where the the candle for the green ranger is tied to his life force .... in which he dies in that arc and rita is consider a witch , who also talks to something in flames implying it's lucifer but .......... i guess :/

@knocturnalzen10 - Yeah, I thought you were talking about Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and not Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger...

Yes, I have seen Zyuranger, I know Rita is a witch called Bandora, and I assume you mean Dai-Satan and not Lucifer?

@LadiesmanBumble - yep ! my apologies then good sir .... but MMPR would always use their stock footage especially for the city scenes so it's not a huge difference to me. and yes meant Dai-satan .... i didn't grasp it when i was younger watching it but when you get older , i was like wow this was pretty dark for a kids show.

20+ years later and it still buggs me they forced Pink Ranger as the "2nd in comand" after Tommy, instead of my favorite Red Ranger. I know it's not Jason but still, in the show, Red Ranger always stands in the middle with White Ranger, not Pink Ranger.

I'll walk myself out.

@Alex35 - What do you mean forced her into second-in-command? I always thought Kim stayed close to Tommy because they were a thing. Though, I didn't like how Tommy just assumed leadership of the group. But Rocky wouldn't have been good leadership material, so it's whatever.
Himura
Himura - 3/9/2019, 7:00 PM
@Odinborn - Tommy didnt assume leadership. It was given to him by Zordon when he became the white ranger. And yeah Red was always 2nd in command after that, not pink. They were just banging.

For Blu-ray release special features are disappointing I remember watching making behind scenes stuff on this movie on hbo that’s not included no commentary from rangers good for rangers finally being on blu ray but extra content could be better

I was born in 1985 so Power Rangers was made for me.
I remember getting out of Summer Camp the day this came out.
Dad took me straight to the movies. This was my Avengers then.
Don't care how it holds up, it did it's job.

The best part of the movie was the use of Van Halen’s “Dreams” at the end. What a jam
