In December we learned that J.J. Abrams would be shooting Star Trek 2 on film, and post converting the footage into 3D. At the time, Abrams said that he was talking about shooting in IMAX, but was hadn't made up his mind yet.

The main question I ask myself now is how the movie will finally come across. A movie shot on IMAX being post-converted to 3D would surely affect the experiance and quality of an IMAX movie. Maybe the fact that Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is currently at $671,069,197 worldwide has convince Paramount to abandont the conversion idea altogether, or maybe the movie will be shot in IMAX 3D.
