I'm ok with this. Still wish Del Toro was still in this film though.

Though I can't see Cumberbatch as Khan. A Klingon, maybe. If either are going to be in the movie that is.

He better be playing a cerebral baddie. Cucumbersnatch surely cant be any physical threat. He is a good actor though.

I first saw him in 'Third Star', a brilliant movie which really showed what a talented actor he is.

I'm not surprised that he's doing so well.

I initially was gonna say a Q, but Q without Picard is like Khan without Kirk. They have had such epic battles that they can't be seperated. Hope they save Q for a TNG reboot. I'm gonna go with Federation Admiral that becomes a traitor and works to escalate the war with the Klingons.

@Thorverine AGREED. Agreed like a million times over. DEAR LORD. My roommates thought I was being murdered, I screamed like a little bitch, I must admit.

Last Sunday's episode of Sherlock is still fresh in my mind, and I haven't seen Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy yet, but knowing this man, it is some that I shant miss.

My god... I mean, I love Benicio Del Torro, but now...I'm kinda glad he turned down the role.

Benedict Cumberbatch to play starring role in my fantasies tonight as well ; )
The first episode of this season's SHERLOCK was better than EVERY film I saw in 2011. So glad he's getting more work.

"Cucumbersnatch" LMFAO!

I watched him in Sherlock for one episode (and sadly missed the other two) and he's awesome! I like this news very much!

And this kinda further confirms that it's not Khan. It couldn't be. Not him.

Okey!... This makes me wonder who the villain really is? It cant be Khan anymore or can it?

Most probably a Klingon or something.

The villain can't be Khan. Khan's story is practically still the same in the new alternate universe (considering the Botany Bay is probably still drifting in space). And the events in The Wrath of Khan take place 15 years after Kirk marooned Khan and his followers on the planet. Also, Kirk was an admiral in the movie...and since this new movie takes place (as far as we know) only a few years after the time established in the reboot, I doubt the villain can be Khan.

Why does Cumberpatch have to be playing an alien? He could be playing a human. IDK.

I love the SHERLOCK stories and I really enjoyed the RDJ movies but this is amazing update that works so well.

Benedict Cumberbatch will be a fantastic addition to ST2.
