Loved this film!

Just watched it again today. As someone who is well versed in all things trek, I thought it was great. The different race thing was distracting at first, but then I just let it go. Why let it spoil the whole movie? It's just another interpretation of a popular character. Much like comics, and comic book movies do different takes on characters. As long as the core of the character is there, I'm good.

Star Trek Into Darkness = 87% Rottentomatoes rating.

Iron Man 3 = 78% Rottentomatoes rating.

Star Trek Into Darkness was 10x as fun to watch than Iron Man 3, and the villain was actually exciting and formidable, unlike The Mandarin.

I'll be buying STID's Blu-ray, I won't be buying IM3 Blu-ray. Which will be the first Marvel blu-ray that I haven't bought.

2ND best film of 2013.

Cumberbatch is one of my new favorite actors.

I'll watch anything he's in.

I will not watch this because I have no wish to injure my brain.

Some people wonder "why the hate for this movie"?

Pretty simple. Crap writing. Insulting the audience's intelligence. And all that.

Lol calm down people. It's ok to have an opinion about the film, but saying the movie insults your intelligence or that it hurts your brain is a little extreme.

I don't understand how many people who said that MoS was awesome, say Star Trek Into Darkness sucks. I mean, brainless as both movies may be, STID at least had some character development and justified most of the characters actions, unlike MoS.

Waaahhhh...my opinion is more important than yours and yours doesn't count...WAAAHHH! Seriously. Can anyone here have a disagreement without pushing their opinion on everyone else as "the only way" lol.

He was a good Khan, but I thought it would be better..

Cumberbatch would rock as a Batman villain :P

The reveal was only applicable to Star Trek fans, if you know who Khan is then it's a big reveal, if you dont then you're left wondering what's the big deal, or you simply dont care, hence why most of my cinema didn't react to it. Khan's not a mainstream villian like someone like Darth Vader or Hannibal Lector, it doesn't change or swerve the plot. Nevertheless this is still the best film i've seen in the cinema this year, Cumberbatch was really good, the guy nailed it.

Love this movie. But I'm glad JJ is moving on from Star Trek. I think Star Wars fits his style better.

Cumberbatch's Khan was more like Sybok from Trek 5 with a mix of Riker from Next Gen. He was a laughable disgrace of a Khan and a villain.

I watched both. And IM3 and Into Abrams Ass both sucked.

Into Abrams Ass is possible the worst Trek film ever. It's a toss up between Trek 5, Generations, Into Abrams Ass, Insurrection and Nemesis.

The most entertaining thing to me is that my friends who are HUGE Marvel fans were all of "Iron Man 3 was shit! Wasn't half as good as Star Trek. The Mandarin sucked!" while my friends who are uber Star Trek fans were like "OMFG! Thats not Khan! There are some things you don't frick with and Khan is one of them! Iron Man 3 was so much better than this shit!".

ROFLMFAO

And no I am not even going into the whole Man Of Steel thing.

All I am going to say is that Much Ado About Nothing & Pacific Rim were better than all three of the above films.

How is this a powerful scene? Kirk and Spock had ZERO reaction to the reveal.

Star Trek fans, the truly hardcore Trekies, are their own worst enemy. If they make a movie that they love and appreciate, one that hits every cord they want while not altering anything that's come before, it would be the last one of the series made. This movie is accessible to large audiences, and that guarantees that more will be made.

It wasn't perfect but it was easily one of the best movies of the year.

Fanboys are a sad bunch, truly.
