Live Long And Prosper With Three New STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Entertainment Weekly Covers

While we all anxiously wait to see what form the fourth Star Trek movie takes (we know Chris Hemsworth will be returning as Captain Kirk's father and that's about it), the franchise is making its return to the small screen later this year. We've seen a trailer for the show and plenty of details have been revealed in recent weeks but our best look yet at the cast comes courtesy of these EW covers.

As you can see, a variety of cast
members are highlighted while The Walking Dead alum Sonequa Martin-Green is even given the spotlight on one of her own. She left the hit AMC series for this so has to be hoping it will be a hit. The fact it's airing on CBS Seed, however, will make ratings a tricky thing!

Like Netflix numbers, we won't be privy to those to see how well Star Trek: Discovery does so it will ultimately come down to the discretion of the network when it comes to whether or not the show can be considered a hit. Star Trek fans are a loyal bunch, though, so they at least will be tuning in...

I don't know about this show. Could be good, but it could easily be crap. I'm excited to see Trek back on TV, but it's not even on TV really. It's on some stupid streaming service. Also the Klingons look kinda crappy

Star Trek purists know that you don't hold your hand at that level when giving the vulcan salute. You hold it up close to your face, as Spock does it.

Showed this to my roommate, who is a Trekkie. Her response was, "This is, borderline, NSFW."
