STAR TREK 4 Star Karl Urban Is Sure Chris Pine And Chris Hemsworth Will Re-Join The Cast

STAR TREK 4's status has been in limbo since Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth left negotiations. But is there still a chance they'll come back? Karl Urban sure thinks so.

Before the leads left the project, S.J. Clarkson's Star Trek 4 was set to have two of Hollywood's most valuable Chrises. But now, after an unfortunate turn of events, it currently has none. Not long ago the pair of Chris Pine and Hemsworth left Star Trek 4 over pay. Since then Paramount has been scrambling to keep the ship on course. But without the two, will the film happen at all?

Recently, during a Trekonderoga panel, actor Karl Urban, who had portrayed Bones over the past three films, opened up on the situation. The actor remained optimistic and confident regarding the prospect of the film and the Chrises' return, but also caused doubt over its existance if they decided not to.

At the moment. I believe the status of the project is really hinging on the availability and the contract negotiations of the two Chrises... Hopefully, we get back for another movie, or two of them. We are just sort of waiting on negotiations. I'm confident we will . . . Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine subsequently have done big movies, and their quotes have gone up and so I am pretty confident though that Paramount and those guys, they will figure it out. Because I know Chris. We were all in touch recently and everybody wants to do it and make it happen. So, if Paramount is willing there will be a way to make it happen. So, fingers crossed.

Since Beyond hit theaters in 2016, it is undeniable that both Pine and Hemsworth have gotten more popular among the masses. Due to superhero films like Wonder Woman, and Hemsworth's comedic and likeable turn in Thor: Ragnorok, the actors have become more in demand. Assuringly, according to Urban, it seems as though Pine is still very enthusiatic about the franchise. Hopefully the two Chrises' have a change of heart, returning to the franchise that put them on the map in the first place.

Hemsworth's American accent was terrible back then man. Don't know if it's improved since, at least for a more meaty role this time around.

The movies have made less and less each time domestically, internationally dropped in cume from Darkness to Beyond.

Doesn't sound like a solid investment to spend more money and make less.

I know they won't do it but I'd like them to scrap this installment of Star Trek and do a kind of soft-reboot with Tarantino's script when he has the time.

He's filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood right now, and I know he has hinted at a possibility of Kill Bill: Vol. 3 in the future, but it'd be great to see his vision for the universe.

Oh, and I'd love to hear Samuel L. Jackson say "mutha[frick]a" in Klingon.

Before I die there has to be at least one movie with Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine, and Chris Pratt in it.

I don't even care if it's a bloody gimmick, a shit movie, or it bombs. Just make it happen.

Has it been confirmed whether Danai Gurira will be in this film or Godzilla vs. Kong?
