STAR TREK SATURDAY | STAR TREK NEMESIS-(the final nail in the coffin)

Its been a long journey for sure, but we've finally reached the end of the TNG movies! It's just a shame that this movie was the send off for our favorite characters. But hey, at least we got Tom Hardy!

Watching Star Trek Nemesis is like waiting at the dentist office for awhile only to find out that your appointment has been canceled; its a long sit with no payoff. It's no question that the TNG films are considered the runt of the litter (minus First Contact of course) when it comes to talking about the Trek franchise. They had a shakey start, an exciting sophmore effort, and then eventually dissolved into utter rubbish. What happened? Why did the producers give up on such a beloved franchise? It's clear by watching Nemesis that very few people cared about what movie they were making. While Nemesis is better than the miserable Insurrection, it still feels tired and weak. The whole film feels like a giant rip off rather than a fun addition to the series. The one positive note here is that if it weren't for Nemesis, I'm not too sure we would've gotten the JJ Abrams Star Trek or Tom Hardy. I guess there's a silver lining to everything.
