VIDEO GAMES: STAR TREK Gameplay Teaser & Concept Art

Beam me up Scotty! Check out the new Star Trek gameplay teaser for the video game that is meant to be a bridge between JJ Abrams 2009 film and the sequel that is currently being filmed.

"There's a lot of speculation about what we're doing with the game not just story-wise and location-wise, but who our enemies are going to be," Carter said. Editors in the IGN office suspect the under-construction area in the image above would lend itself well to a vulcan refugee camp following the destruction of their homeworld in Abrams' first movie.

Miller clarified that the team is working hard to nail the aesthetic and vibe of the filmmaker's universe, and that "if you can draw those parallels, that's a homerun for us." Again, he looked toward E3 for specifics about villains, enemy forces, events, and that location, among others. Miller also alluded to additional platform announcements when asked about Vita and Wii-U.

"Star Trek 2" stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho and Alice Eve. The film is expected to be in theaters May 17, 2013.

I think the tone needs a little work. Other than that, this looks playable. :)

I wonder if it too is going to have to release DLC to finish the main story?

Eh.
This looks kinda cheap. I'll stick with Mass Effect.

Hate to say this, and I really want this game to be good, but it's probably gonna be lame. It looks like a stripped down Mass Effect. In its own right, that could be a good thing...but most likely not.

Here's hoping it's good. I'll definitely play it, unless the reviews are abysmal! I think I'm going to need to see something innovative to be sold on it though

reminds me of mass effect and dead space, which is good.

Star Trek: The series that has my respect the way Star Wars used to.

Nice try, but it still feels like a Mass Effect knockoff.
