The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

I'm usually annoyed when people start the whole "They're showing all the movie" thing. But damn. It seems like TG is giving up the ass with no resistance.

With them showing everything in the trailers, as you mentioned people are complaining about, I am not going to spend my money this show. I'll wait until it hits hbo or something; with the surprises revealed, there is nothing to keep me entertained except for the explosions and action sequences, which isn't enough for me to shell out for overpriced movie tickets. Sorry....but you want MY money, you'll have to actually save plot details for me to have any anticipation and desire to watch your movie.

So unless Skynet is making Terminators to infiltrate and invade a senior citizens home, I can't understand why the hell Schwaz---Schwartz---Schwur---Arnie is in it. There are other actors in Hollywood, right?

Can't understand why they showed the John Connor twist in the trailer. That alone would have drawn audiences in from word of mouth alone.

Maybe there is hope @DrKinsolving, personally, I like both kick ass 1 &2 obviously first is the best. But I something scary is forming in my mind: How everyone wants sequels to Dredd, Hellboy, and myself Wanted, and well...

@MyNameIsKhan

True, a Hellboy sequel would be awesome, I hope that happens, so they can properly end the trilogy

Wanted is such a cool movie too, it would be hard to top it, the sequel would definitely have it's work cut out. I wasn't really a big fan of Dredd though.

But, Kick-Ass, those movies rock, imo, especially the first one. I would love to see Vaughn come back and make a sequel or a prequel, hyped for those

Yea Del Toro has pacific rim 2 and potentially that other Justice League film so IDk

Wanted definitely deserves a sequel James Mcavoy said he'd return regardless of the quality of the script..but its already almost been 8 years
And Kick Ass, similar to Hellboy needs a proper conclusion; maybe they can make Hit Girl spinoffs..

I'm sure there is more to the John Connor twist than they have revealed. It seems almost too absurd to be the big "twist" of the movie. There has to be more to it.

Either way though, I'm not invested in this movie at all, so I'll probably wait for a home/online release. Looks okay, maybe even good, but it just doesn't have that theater draw for me.

According to the story of the film, the T-800 was sent back in time to the 60s, when he looked like 1980s Arnold. The skin on the Terminator has aged, that's what allows Arnold to reprise his role of the T-800.

Also remember the last time we used other actors for The Terminator, we got Terminator Salvation. lol
