Skydance Pictures, the production company now behind the Terminator franchise, revealed via its social media accounts that Tuesday, September 19th will bring some big news to fans of the franchise.

The following image went online earlier today, inviting fans to listen to franchise creator and original film writer/directer James Cameron and Tim Miller, whose Deadpool was the surprise hit of 2016, along with some revealing information:

Terminator: A Conversation with James Cameron and Tim Miller

DATE AND TIME
Tue, September 19, 2017
7:30 PM – 11:30 PM PDT

LOCATION
Paramount Pictures
5555 Melrose Avenue
Paramount Theatre
Los Angeles, CA 90038

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join filmmakers James Cameron and Tim Miller on the Paramount Lot for an exclusive conservation with The Hollywood Reporter’s Matt Belloni about their collaboration on the upcoming Terminator.

The conversation will be followed by screening of Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 3D!

Register now for tickets. A limited number of tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Schedule and programming subject to change. Please note that all cell phones/recording devices will be collected by security upon entering the theater and redistributed immediately afterwards.

While this tells us that Terminator 6 is both greenlit and entering pre-production, it also states that Tim Miller's directing deal has become official.

It was reported last May that Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again play one of the titular cybernetic organisms from the future.

Official announcements are expected to occur at the event itself, but fans of Terminator and Deadpool can be happy with this little tease.

@Elayem - Honestly the only way to get me excited is if they announce a new actor to play a "new" terminator this time around. Nothing against Arnold, he's a good and very entertaining actor but seeing him again feels a little... "been there done that"

@L0RDbuckethead - I'll be watching tomorrow morning. Despite what they've said I hope Garrison appears at least once or twice this season.

Any official word that this is Terminator 6 and not a reboot?

Am I the only one who doesn't want them to bring Arnold back. Don't get me wrong he made the role, but I would really like to see someone else play a terminator. Get some fresh blood.

@CurlyBill - Perhaps. I can understand both sides. Yeah he is old, but even though Genisys sucked Arnold was the best part. I'm kinda on both sides. He's been in two great terminator movies and two mediocre ones. I want him to at least have one more great terminator movie. Arnold having three great terminator movies is all i want. I think since this is supposed to be the start of a new trilogy, that he should have a major role in the first one, and smaller roles in the sequels, passing the torch to a new terminator.

Glad Miller left DP.
I'm excited to see where they go with this terminator. More so with Miller attached.
